Burton Home- Attendance

Mon Mar 26, 2018 12:44 am

Ground looking empty on the E-ticketing site online. Worrying with only 4 games to go at home, 2nd in the league 7 clear of 3rd with a game in hand. If there’s not at least 25,000 there for every game I think it’s a joke. The players and staff deserve that. The least we can do is pack the stadium out For them

Re: Burton Home- Attendance

we don't get Friday off in my place we get Monday and Tuesday so quite a lot will be working normally Friday, couple this with it's a long weekend it's one of the biggest weekends for going away onshore breaks.

I know loads who can't make it because they're working, my memories fading but we don't usually play on Good Friday do we?

Honestly i think from the wolves game the games will go to 25,000.
It probably puts of people thats its Friday 3pm.
Think it will be 17,500

Re: Burton Home- Attendance

Im going straight from work , will probably miss most of the first half.

Re: Burton Home- Attendance

Mon Mar 26, 2018 8:59 am

Even though we are second in the league our crowds are dictated by who the opposition is .regardless that it is Friday 3pm if we were playing wolves the attendance would be much higher than Burton.

Re: Burton Home- Attendance

Mon Mar 26, 2018 9:00 am

Its a bank holiday Friday so i got the option whether to go in or not myself, think we will get around 20k down there

Re: Burton Home- Attendance

Mon Mar 26, 2018 9:21 am

Be more than 14k! But walk up crowd will be effected by the time? it's a silly time on bank holiday to have game and not expect a lower crowd especially playing burton rather than wolves ect. :old:

Re: Burton Home- Attendance

Mon Mar 26, 2018 10:10 am

A Bank holiday evening game would have been far more appropriate, as it would give people time to get home from work and/or enjoy a day with their families beforehand (best of both worlds)

A tough day to call on attendances but hopefully everyone who can be there will be. That's what counts! :ayatollah:

Wonder if they'll turn up up and down the country for the other Friday 3pm kick offs?.

Can you remember us kicking off at this time before on Good Friday? Usually the Sat and Monday isn't it.

What defines normal crowd? Can only compare same two teams playing each other previously on a good Friday as different clubs have different following ! I don't expect our crowd on Fri to be anymore that 16k like said silly time to play game on bank holiday Friday. :old:

Certainly an odd time and date, haven't decided if i'm going or not yet

I really can't rem, I know League 1 & 2 usually play matches on the Good Friday.

I thought we use to play on the Saturday and Monday.

Be very very interesting how every club does in the Championship.

Just spoke to Carl, the factory in Bridgend he works for are having Good Friday off, 150 workers and the nearby factories are as well. :bluebird:

Allan, u know exactly what I mean.

If a club usually gets say 20,000 home crowd, then gets a few more thousand on Good Friday v an unfashionable team, then thats what I am comparing it to.

An example City only took a few hundred away to Wednesday on on Good Friday last season, Wednesday were getting 22,000 home crowds, they got over 28,000 for the Good Friday home game.

Sky Bet Championship

Sheffield Wednesday 1-0 Cardiff City
3:00pm Friday 14th April 2017
Hillsborough (Att: 28,007)

Its going to be interesting how the Championship clubs do regarding crowds.

Allan, For nearly 8 months many of u have been saying next month, next month the crowds will come, yet sadly they haven't.

Our Club/Team/Manager has done everything they can, in fact gone beyond to get the crowds to be bigger.

Our team have for nearly 7 months spent their time in the Top 2 of the Championship and we have had 15,000,16,000 crowds sometimes and an average home crowd which is about 14th in the Championship, to be honest about it, thats not just sad to see,but awful.

Fans on here have used well over a 100 excuses, yet v Leeds,Man City and Wolves soon the crowds have been massive, yet they were all on Sky and not 3pm's on Saturdays.

So some how No excuses then. I have said it before our prob is, many are not coming to watch Cardiff, they are only coming depending on who the opposition is.

Cheap tickets/Cheap season tickets.

I tend to agree annis whatever day/time/place the games played on it seems some fans will find something to moan about regardless

Stephen, sadly they use every excuse they can think of.

The truth is, if fans who live in the Surrounding areas of Cardiff and in Cardiff really want to go,they do. Leeds,Man City and now Wolves home all big crowds.

When City use to play every home game on Saturday 3pm, some would say, many can't make it due to park football and work.

The moaning and excuses are never there when Cardiff are playing a big name club.

Yet in the Premier League, NO excuses, times were awful and Sky matches were plenty and the cost to watch Cardiff was more than it is now.

18-20k probably. I may be late as I work on Friday mornings - work in retail so have little choice.

Society has changed, and people put family before football these days. An increase in season ticket numbers brought on by another FA Cup Final appearance is likely the only thing which will boost attendances whilst in the Championship

Re: Burton Home- Attendance

Mon Mar 26, 2018 3:34 pm

Spot on again annis we really are the club who's attendance is determined by who the opposition is .if we were playing wolves this Friday or it was a premier league fixture I doubt there be any moaning about kick off time etc.were 2nd in the league ffs .

You mean society at our club, as 14 other clubs get bigger home attendances than us, yet we are the one having an amazing season.

It really hurts to say and everyone will be going on about how great the attendance is v Wolves, they forget we had another 20 plus home games.

Our club deserves better support and we Cardiff City is surrounded by at least one million people, there are No excuses.

Like you say as well, put a big game on and all the excuses go out the window.
