Disallowed goal

Was that really offside ? Seemed to come in from behind the defender.

I haven't seen it again yet but from where I was sitting (117) it looked like the ball was floated in and the timing was very good but it does appear that kind of ball often catches the line officials out and they seem to err on the side of caution when making their decisions :(

He did flag early so guess he was positive he was offside!

Still not seen it but if that's the case, then may be. Thankfully didn't spoil the positive result! :thumbright: :ayatollah:

Just seen the replay. Very, very tight. Can’t be sure myself so I’ll say the assistant referee made the right call.... although I can’t guarantee I’d say that if we didn’t win

Also saw the video of the challenge on Etheridge. Definite red card BUT the referee didn’t have a clear view so it’s hard to criticise him. Couldn’t see the assistant referee on the video I saw, so can’t say whether he had a clear view.

If I’m right, action can’t be taken retrospectively if the referee has booked the player (as the Barnsley player was)?

To me he looked on side. And that linesman was bloody useless. So I took his flag with a pinch of salt

He looked off on the tele, but was from the centre line camera, didn't even capture the full width of the pitch so was a pretty useless view really. I ran the line for about 10 years up to U18 level and when its tight you've got to be pretty bang in line to make the right call. The abuse you used to get from people who had no view was unreal. I once had a goalie run from the other end of the pitch to tell me I was wrong.

The lino had good view of foul on Etheridge anywhere else on pitch a red card easily. :o

Tim we weren't straight across but I screamed at the lino...I thought
it was a perfectly good header well timed run onto the ball. :bluebird:
TBF the lino our side was useless all night. Ball out of play not to mention the Etheridge kick

Cheers guys.

My uncle in the Family Stand thought it might have been given for a foul.

Lucky it didn't cost us
