My View/ Opinion Barnsley Home Tonight

(1) Barnsley will struggle to cope with our attack in the best of times . We are too strong & good for them. On top of that - their 2 normal center halves are Lindsay & Mills - however Mills is out as well as his 1st choice replacement Jackson who is also out - so they will have to play 3rd choice Pearson.

2) Barnsley though have a very young team with an average age of just over 23. This is good and bad. Good because we have to make our experience & strength count. Bad because by Jove those guys will run & run plus fight the fight.

(3) Their biggest danger comes from 2 of their 3 forwards (they play 4-3-3) : a-McBurnie who is on fire (on loan from...(Swansea) b-Moore who is 6'5". Both can be a handful as well so our defence must be in good form (I hope Morrison is fully ready).

On paper I expect a win but then on grass & on the night - who knows ? Umm... I do " a tough win".¡

I'm pretty sure they're going to have Ethan Pinnock back at centre back tonight. He played 90 minutes for their Under 23 team last week and has been good for them this season. If he is fit, he'll line up with Lindsay.

You're very correct about the strikers. McBurnie will line up on the left, so our centre halves are going to have to be very watchful of him drifting into the box. Moore hasn't scored for them yet, but hit the net plenty of times in League One, so will be a danger.

We have to get control of midfield. If Paterson isn't fit, I expect to see Grujic Halford and Bryson starting and they have to be able to hold the ball better and release our wingers.

Is Ralls Deff out then, I've not seen any confirmation from NW?

I think I've taken this forum's word as gospel, which isn't a great idea on past experience.

Warnock does have history of hiding injuries into matchday though.

Agree, I thought it was ominous that NW didn't mentjk Ralls in his prematch. Really hope he isn't thoigh as he's the player you really see the value of when he's not there!
