Leeds Fans

Mon Mar 05, 2018 6:57 pm

Leeds have Sold 3,600 tickets for Fulham Away on a Tuesday night nearly a month away and have just asked for another 1,000 tickets.
Not even in the play-offs.

I don’t even like Leeds, but I am honest to accept their Away support is one of the best in the UK
The other day on here I put up about their 2,500 Fans Away in the snow, live on sky last Friday night and straight away Boro is a local derby  yet that night it took Leeds fans 8hr round trip due to road closures etc

So now let’s here that this away support is not that good either?

I would rather be honest and praise other clubs and ours if they/we are taking big away Support week in week out and the team not doing that well.

They do have phenomenal support away from home you can't take it away from them but v Boro they lost 3-0 and that's all I will remember for it, at the end of the day yes they took amount of numbers but they lost 3-0 so what have they won?

Exactly nothing, but their fans still go and they sell out no matter where they go.

Over 26 years ago since Leeds won any major trophy and before that another 20years.

Spent plenty of time up in top flight, but not many clubs keep big away Support like them.

I take interest in the number of away fans,Leeds have had years in the premiership, played in Europe so have had a chance to build the away support, most of the club's in the championship that have big away support are the club's that have had seasons in the premiership

Look at the history of Leeds over decades! Success will buy you that kind of support and that’s what we need in a relatively poor area of the country, pointless saying we are a big club, we are not.

Thing is with Leeds they have supporters all over the country the valleys for example have a large numbers. They even have buses to home games throughout the year from the area.

Correct coaches go to Leeds from all over Britain.Leeds Liverpool and Manchester Utd the three clubs with biggest supports from outside their areas.

We can't be compared to Leeds they are twice the size of club that we are. Huge support from a massive city and area of Yorkshire. Fans all over Britain and worldwide. I do love attendances but hate Leeds!

I have no idea what you're getting at here.. It's a common theme in football that clubs respect other clubs that have a good away following. The point of this post was nothing to do with the result.

Doesn't matter how much you appreciate the fans.. the team is shite ( apart from Liam Cooper, I think he's good ) :laughing6:

Seems strange to think that coaches still go from South Wales to Elland rd? Is this true, or is it now just a car load. They do have weird support in Wales which does highlight the fact they were once a big club, and Wales is the glory hunting capital of the UK.
On the flip side, it appears that loads of teams take big support to Fulham these days, nice old ground, nice part of London, day in the smoke....seems like everyone takes at least 2500....

Fulham charge away fans 20 quid and 1 quid for kids. Price games right and the massives follow

It doesn't help when you try to buy tickets for 'floating fans' and are declined by the ticket office, had 12 interested for Derby but can't get the tickets as we don't have the fan numbers so 4 of us going in the car now.

You make a very valid point but surely for £20 for the season to become a Gold member is worth it :bluebird: if those other 8 who now are not going go regularly?

And I did give him the credit I said phenomenal support I am just saying I am not so fanatical about attendances like we had 16,000 last night and I don't sit there thinking 'Der I wish we had a couple more thousand here', as long as I attend a game I am happy because I love watching City and I don't care where the other thousands are when they turn up for a big game.. at the end of the day yeah they took a good couple of thousand to Boro but they lost 3-0 so what they gained? A little bit of pride and respect, yeah it's nice but it doesn't really bother me in the bigger picture that's all.

Re: Leeds Fans

They won't pay it mate, there lies the problem, they are the types to come once or twice a season for a 'day out'. They all came to the Man City game but none been since, tell a lie 3 went to the Wurzels game, it's a double edged sword realy, on the one hand part of me thinks f**k em but on the other hand if we want to fill the ground home and away they are the types we need and it would help if the Club relaxed things sometimes I think.
