Norwich Away by Train???

Was just pre-planning an away trip to Norwich next month but noted that the last train from London back to Cardiff is at 8pm! The only real option from Norwich is the 1730 then gets into Liverpool Street at 1919 meaning that connection time is pretty tight! Just wondering if anyone else was planning the trip?

Any idea on train prices for this trip?

Yep four of us going by train, there is a 5pm from Norwich train station to Liverpool st which unlikely to catch that one or 5.30 leaving Norwich which will be tight but should be ok. £65 quid return from Newport.

Try breaking the tickets in London. When I was looking the other day it was only £ 9 quid each way from Stratford

Last train from Paddington to Cardiff is about half 11 normally!

I did this trip a few seasons back.
The 5pm out of Norwich is definitely capable of being caught if you are out of the ground sharpish on 90 minutes and jog to the station. It isn't far.
We split the tickets and bought a return to Norwich at Liverpool St.You might get a better price buying early though.
Got back to Paddington in good time for train back only to be blocked by suicide on the track so we spent couple of hours in bar at station.

Fancy it myself but what would the price be and the timings are tight
