15 Woods

7 Josefzoon 11 Watkins
9 Maupay

Saturday’s trip to west London will be one of the most challenging aways of the season, and not just for the fans travelling head on into The Beast from the East. Brentford hold one of the best home records in the Championship, and it will require another monumental effort to take all three points in the freezing conditions at Griffin Park.

The Bees have only the ninth best home record in the league, but take away their dismal August and September results and the statistics tell a better story.

In their last 12 home games, Dean Smith’s side have amassed 23 goals, 25 points, and only conceded nine goals with three of those against Sunderland.

Yet Brentford aren’t always the exemplars of consistency. The last team to come away from Griffin Park with three points were Norwich, in a surprising 1-0 defeat and the Reds have had their play-off push regularly set back by poor results.

However, City’s backline will still have to be focused and disciplined to blunt a Brentford attack that hit five against Birmingham a week ago – a result which shows how dangerous their offensive capabilities can be.
