So do I. Unfortunately, I spent most of that season flat on my back in CRI and Rhydlafar, following a work accident!

They were for me the best years

Cracking day out that, brilliant days of train travel

Look how young our fans are there.
These days all in our 40s and 50s.
Seems to be s lot more youngsters this season though.
Hopefully next generation coming through

lawnmower when you consider the cost of entry and travel it was far more cost effective to follow football then than now especially if your at youth age
as for the pompey trip didn't go to this game but went to the game a year later down there . the 1983/84 season after was very hostile if you traveled away then . places like barnsley and preston away stick out in my mind from that year . did most away grounds those 2 years too

There was a study last season done on prem clubs and it showed that to follow a team home and away would take up roughly 30% of an average earners disposable income opposed to 10% in the 80s.

“No women, no kids”.....amazing the difference in our fan base back then to now. When football was affordable eh

I'm in there somewhere. The train was so full on the way, that half a dozen of us from the Rhondda sat in the Guards van. A couple of OB came in, said allright to us, and then started reeling off our names which was a bit concerning to say the least, especially back then!

I remember it well annis, the dismantling of the clock was something i will never forget. Many years ago when on holiday in Kos i got friendly with a brit (at the local bar) who lived in there he told me he supported portsmouth, when i told him i supported Cardiff his reply was "you stole our clock"

Paul, Your right its a season to never be forgotten and I meet many Pompey fans who have nothing but respect for our numbers that day, but also say can we have our clock back

Me and my best friend, Nick(RIP), there somewhere in the pompey clock end.
Remember the day well - down on train - great days - never much liked the agro though but I think we all got caught up in the "wreck the clock, wreck the clock" episode.
Proper days away.
