Birmingham City are in trouble with the FFP, the sanctions could be fatal
Wednesday February 28, 2018 Sports
Birmingham City are going through a difficult season, they have been struggling from the start of the season, and are currently in the 22th position with only 30 points.
And it gets worse for the Blues, the latest reports say that Birmingham City will find out today whether they have failed FFP.
If they have failed the Financial Fair Play Regulations, the sanctions could be fatal for the club.
The the sanctions could include:
– Fine
– Transfer embargo
– Points deduction
– Administration (as they reportedly owe £50m)
All of the sanctions above could rise the crisis of the club, especially the points deduction, that means they would be relegated automatically to League 1.

We would lose none.
But there is no way they will be dumped out of the league with their result expunged.

Well more than a bit, I am sure many on here will exclude the manager from this as it's always the owners.

Not at all sure that they will be in breach of the FFP/P&S regulations.
This report just says that they now have to submit their financial figures to the EFL - it doesn`t quote what those figures are.
They have to submit audited accounts for the year to 30 June 2016 (showing a loss of £6m) , those for the year to 30 June 2017 (showing a loss of £14.6m) plus estimated accounts for the year to 30 June 2018 (4 months of which there are obviously no actual figures for yet). For the two full years they do have figures for , the total loss comes to £20.6m so not at all clear if they will be in breach of the 3 year £39m allowable loss figure.

I'm with you on that!![]()
I always enjoy going there and never really saw the Brummies as any big foe!
Brian, SamRean's grandfather, is one of the guys I go to away games with. He played up front for Birmingham City in the 1950's before settling in the Vale of Glamorgan. Annis and Carl will know him from the bus; he's hard not to hear with his strong Bromsgrove accent and was infamous for daring to wear a red Cardiff City scarf on one of Carl's buses! That was an entertaining 2 minutes! LOL![]()
Always sad to see any club hit the bottom and we need to remember it could so easily have been us at one point not too long ago!![]()
