Warnock staying a disaster?

Wed Feb 28, 2018 12:42 am

After 40yrs of watching City there have only been a few occasions where a manager has connected with the fans.Warnock is obviously one of them but..... If he takes us to the Prem do we want to continue to watch the dross on show.Gk never passes it out, midfield lacks creativity and we never play through the back. Are our crowds being low because of the football on show? I can only think of a handful of games at home I've enjoyed watching.Warnock could never follow the style of a Fulham or Wolves and how do fans feel about Warnock managing us in the Prem? I love his passion but the football on show is depressing at times.

Personally I couldn’t give a monkeys what football we play as long as we win. I much prefer our team playing direct, if you want to watch a team that passes from the back and stuff Man City and Barca are regularly on TV. But when you support a team you want them to win not to pass it about. But each to their own.

He hasn’t got the funds or players at his disposal that the likes of Wolves, Fulham, Villa and Derby have. Therefore, if we went like for like in terms of playing style, we’d probably struggle and be mid table in the league as opposed to second. I personally think he’s doing a great job and I’ve enjoyed every single home game this season, none more so than the recent Bristol City game where our fans united and created an atmosphere of epic biblical proportion. Football is about winning.

You have the most apt user name "Tarkimickallefslovechild". Because a love child is more commonly known as a b*stard.

You support the team, not the system

Kinda agree with OP actually.

Great that NW is staying on and given what has gone on, he is one of the very few people in football who could have mended some of the supporters hurt over red / feeling disenfranchised. Early season, getting the ball wide and innto the box.....loved that.

But the football over the last 3/4 months. Bloody Hell!

Surely most on here have to agree it is dire. First half on Sunday was genuinely like watching football on the old park pitch on Sloper Road on the way to Ninian Park. And it has been like that for ages.

Loving how well we are doing. Loving NW.

But the footbal???

As Warnock says in his interview, he is a great admirer of what Sean Dyche has done at Burnley. I think if Warnock managed us in The Premiership, that is the type of team and style he would implement. I'd be happy with that, as long as it kept us up for a couple of seasons

Warnock, this is Swansea tramp, who comes on every couple of days trying to cause trouble, no doubt he will be banned again soon and come back as a new stupid name.

Ah you don't like the football but love how well we are doing? Mmmmm can't always have everything given choice what would you prefer 2nd in league with dire football or mid table with beautiful football?

Is it? I enjoy watching us, we are hard to beat, get the ball up to half way and break with pace and quick passing in the final third. I think its great to watch and lead to some outstanding end to end games this season.

The bristol game was dire sure. But I wouldn’t say it’s been like that over the last 3/4 months

If Morrison or Bamba boot the ball to Madines head all game and we score a scuffy goal and win 1 - 0, I don't care.
I'll still be in that away end singing and celebrating.

As someone said - If you want to watch fancy tippy tappy football then put sky sports on your tv.

You can't deny Warnock biggest plus point is ex-players wanting to play for him again. That's not going to be the case in premier league in terms of having the quality needed. I'm sure he'll get a lot of calls from ex-players!

I seem to re-call Stoke & Brom fans not being happy with the way Hughes or Pulis teams play. I wonder if they will be any happier next season?

Good to see some other City fans see what I see.I love Bamba who is my favourite player since Dave Bennet and Newton and I think having Mendez-Laing go off the boil has meant we have had to rely on Houlliet too much. The point I was trying to make is that some fans unlike myself whose a season ticket holder don't turn up because the football can be hard to watch and I still wonder whether Neil will stay if we go up as he doesn't enjoy managing in the prem. For those City fans who have a different view that is fine but don't get precious of a different point of view.
