The brilliant moments that sum up why Cardiff City fans love Neil Warnock so much

And he's here to stay for another two seasons!

As if an eight-game unbeaten run in the Championship wasn't enough, Cardiff City ramped up the feel-good factor to a whole new level as they announced that Neil Warnock has signed a new deal to remain as the club's manager for another two years.

And if the next two seasons are anything like Warnock's time in the Welsh capital so far, the Cardiff faithful have plenty of good times ahead to look forward to.

Here are the moments that sum up why the Bluebirds and Warnock are a match made in heaven.

No minute’s silence for Warnock – Ahead of Cardiff City Vs Manchester City

The veteran boss turns 70 this year, and ahead of the Man City game, he delivered a brilliant quip about how he wants to be remembered when he passes away.

“I don't want silence. I want them all to be chanting ‘Warnock's a w*****’ over and over again. For a whole minute. That would be my ideal. They'll all smile because they'd all know that would mean a lot to me. As daft as it sounds. It matters because it would mean I've stirred emotions. I've helped people love football.”

Warnock sent off against Reading – Reading 2-2 Cardiff City

The boss was sent to the stands after protesting a decision during the second half of the game at the Madejski Stadium.

"They said I’ll take you to the directors' box and I said are you joking? This is Reading. I’m not going anywhere near their fans!

"I said I’ll watch it on my phone but I couldn’t get 3G in the dressing room. I ended up going in the TV section with a few of the guys and when we got the first goal they shot off.”

A cheeky dig at Bristol City - Ahead of Cardiff City Vs Man City

Asked if the Bluebirds could learn from the way Bristol City played against Man City in the Carabao Cup semi-finals ahead of their FA Cup meeting in South Wales, Warnock made sure he got a sly jibe in at Cardiff's Severnside rivals.

“Good luck to them, I'm not a big fan of Bristol City as you know! I watched the first Bristol City game and caught the second half of the other game. They’ve done brilliantly against Man City over the two legs and there’s something we can take from that."

‘Sol Bamba is better than Van Dijk’ - Ahead of the Bluebirds’ home clash with Preston

Virgil van Dijk's impending mega money move from Southampton to Liverpool had been dominating the headlines over the festive period, and as ever, Warnock had his say on the deal.

“I think Sol Bamba is slightly better than Van Dijk defensive-wise. I think Van Dijk has got more confidence on the ball and looks easier on the eye, but I don’t think he is better defensively.”

The Joe Bennett punishment – Ahead of Cardiff’s trip to Leeds United

Joe Bennett was suspended for the 4-1 win at Leeds as a result of his red card against Man City, and it's safe to say Warnock wasn't impressed with the left-back.

"To get a yellow card was unprofessional I thought. It was a ridiculous booking so what else can you expect? He'll be training Saturday and Sunday if you want to come and watch him, 11 o'clock until 1.30, anybody's welcome!"

Kenny Burns? Water off a ducks back – Following Cardiff’s win at Forest

Nottingham Forest legend Kenny Burns launched an astonishing attack on Warnock following the Bluebirds success at the City Ground earlier this season, and the Yorkshireman's response was as superb as ever.

"I’m sure he realised we’re in professional football and we’re not here to let people have a lovely afternoon at our benefit. It didn’t really make sense. But listen, I’ve had bigger people than Kenny Burns criticise me over the years so it don’t bother me.”

Warnock and shaving...yes, shaving! - Ahead of the Bluebirds’ home clash with Sheffield Wednesday

Real Madrid star Marco Asensio was unavailable for his side's Champions League clash with Apoel Nicosia in September because of an infection he suffered as a result of shaving his legs.

"Fortunately for me, I don’t have that problem, I don’t have hairs hardly anywhere. My daughter can’t believe how smooth I am. I don’t mind it, I don’t shave very often, it must be very difficult for people who do. It leaves you open to all sorts of injuries.”

‘I’ve never been a banker’ - On the Wolves fans after the Bluebirds' 2-1 win at Molineux

"I don't think I've ever been a banker. I think that's what they were calling me…I said to one of the young [Wolves] lads this morning as I came out for an autograph 'You'll be going home disappointed tonight son, won't you?'

Millwall fury after Bamba’s disallowed goal – Millwall 1-1 Cardiff City

The Bluebirds thought they had collected all three points when Sol Bamba's acrobatic volley against Millwall was chalked off after the referee brought play back for an earlier foul on Neil Warnock.

“He's an experienced referee, I feel really let down. I think the official has cost us, it was an absolute disgrace tonight. He said he didn't see Sol in the box. It's quite understandable, he is only 6ft 6in.”

The Warnock way, the winning way – Ahead of Cardiff’s trip to Sunderland

The veteran boss recalls a time when he was interviewed by Norwich, although it seems the Canaries had some concerns over his style of play.

“I once went to an interview at Norwich and they asked if their fans would accept the ‘Warnock Way’? I said what do you mean, winning? I don’t understand what the ‘Warnock Way’ is, me.”

The best football league manager there's been for me, love that he's come here and galvenised the team and the supporters.

This team will run through brick walls for him, the passion, the commitment is second to none :bluescarf:

Why do I think NW is the best manager we have ever had?

It's because when we go one down early I no longer say that's it we've had it cos I know his team is full of character and will come back!
It's because when we are drawing in a "6 pointer" with ten minutes to go, I no longer think that's a real chance missed cos I know his team will keep going and it's almost certain we will get a winner!
It's because when we look certain to lose I know we won't because his team doesn't ever quit and we will get something out of the game.
It's because he has brought back pride to my team - Cardiff City.

NW is a managerial genius and I can give him no greater compliment that to rate him alongside two of my other football management heroes - Brian Clough and Peter Taylor - long may he reign at Cardiff City!!

I'd put him in my top three favourite managers here alongside Scoular And May. He may end up being the best of the lot by the time he is finished with us.
