Leeds fans destroy attacker/manager/but praise Sol Bamba on Twitter after Cardiff debacle – ‘So poor it’s painful’, ‘garbage’

Leeds United crashed to a humiliating 4-1 defeat at home to Cardiff City on Saturday afternoon with players, coaches and the owners all coming under fire from a stunned Elland Road support after the game.



Sol Bamba gave Leeds hope early in the second half when he scored an own goal but the visitors made the game safe just two minutes from time when Anthony Pilkington converted from Paterson’s cross.

The result condemned Leeds to their second home defeat in a row and they are still to win a game in 2018.

It’s a run that has seen the Whites go from being just a point outside the playoff spots a few weeks ago to the current position where they sit seven points adrift and in desperate need of a lift.

The frustration inside Elland Road was tangible with Leeds fans turning on the management.

Whites boss Christiansen came in for the most stick with chants of “you don’t know what you’re doing” ringing out around the ground and for the first time, the Dane finds himself under real pressure.

Twitter went into meltdown after the game as the Leeds faithful took to social media to voice their disappointment – Kemar Roofe was one amongst many that bore the brunt.

The versatile Whites forward had a limited impact in the game and this did not go unnoticed by the home support – here are the tweets from the Leeds fans.

Where do I start.

Leeds were weak and lacking concentration. We had no fight until the game was over.

The front four is unable to keep the ball. We have a lack of squad depth when you looked at the bench, Dallas was the only one you would have wanted on the pitch from the start, and he should have started.

Referee was awful. The tackle on Dallas in the second half was a straight red and he didn`t see any card at all. He lacked control the whole game. He made the decision on Berardi`s second yellow with Madine rolling round on the floor like a sniper in the upper east stand had shot him. The card was issued and he jumped up and sprinted into position. That for me is the same as a player diving in the box.

We spent a lot of time in the January transfer window getting yet more players into the under 23s. It was not the place where it was needed in January. Our man doing the recruitment has got it wrong - Victor Orta, it is time to go

Have to laugh at them ref that Madine piece. Lassogga wenr down under an innocuous challenge which wasn't even a foul and rolled around for ages. Jumped up when he didn't get anything and played on as if nothing had happened.

The foul on Madine was a booking and the one which got Bernardo the first booking was a sending off according to the Sky pundits this morning ( not me though).

Their fans whinged throughout as they were outplayed first half and getting undeserved free kicks and bookings was their only chance of beating us.

Luckily the ref stood up to it .

I have to say mind Grujic was lucky to stay on given the way tackles are judged these days.

Not that it would have made any difference, we looked like we could go up a gear at any time in the 2nd half and did in the end.

Surprised they thought of that of Roofe, sure he scored a hat trick for them v QPR and just assumed he would have been a fan favourite or do they still continually cream themselves over that CB Jannson or whatever his name is?
