I said this a few weeks back its been coming the norm lately that because we are not going away in big numbers and the fact you don't see any trouble at our home matches anymore fans are becoming brave and all of a sudden they want to have a go at us I don't know what they are expecting half the time I wouldn't encourage anybody to go down this road anymore it's not i worth it I know we got to defend ourselves if it happens our fans still can like the incident in mansfield a few weeks if the city had gone there on a Saturday afternoon it would have been a diffrent ball game but as I said I wouldn't encourage it to anyone to get involved my advice when you do go away keep you're whitts about and stay alert

Martin, yes when we took good numbers away most clubs lads stayed away. Because our away support is so poor nowadays, some clubs now feel brave and cowardly attack small numbers of Cardiff fans.

If this was the incident after getting off the Shuttle Bus from the station to Elland Road.

This is what happened...

I was sat at the back of the lower deck with a pensioner sat next to me in the outer seat. He was with his family. All good spirits and all Leeds fans I thought, me excepted.

When the bus was maybe a mile from ground old men/lads at the front in their 50's started shouting "We hate Cardiff, sheep shaggers", etc. and "Where's the Soul Crew?"

A Cardiff lad at the front and next to them said "I'm Soul Crew. Shut the f**k up!"


To his credit, he gave them shit back and offered the mouthy one out. They all backed off like shrunken violets!

The exchange of words continued and a Leeds fan stood across the aisle and said "I'm Rugby League, no idiot passes!" and calmed it down in fairness. He had a young daughter with him and everything was then ok. He told the City fan on more than two occasions to "chill his beans and calm down" as he would prob get a slap when getting off the bus.

All was calm until the bus stopped and the City fan went to confront the Leeds gobshite, but it was 6-8 in their favour. I did not see what happened but he ended up on his backside with a cut mouth and his mate saying "You've got work tomorrow leave it."

Crazy really.
There were loads of us who would gladly have had a toe to toe. But not a peep.

I have seen both sides. Brighton home stands out a few Brighton scarfers got a shoeing from about 15 young Cardiff. Very outnumbered. Didn’t it happen at a Bristol game too? However, I have also seen older heads stopping younger Cardiff bullying a couple of lads at Shrewsbury train station.

We have dickheads too and they were shouting soul crew.

Me and a mate got mistaken for police then Doncaster fans at Doncaster away and ten Cardiff fans coked up wanted to batter us.

Tim, I saw that incident myself and ran down and told the Cardiff youngsters to F off, none of those Cardiff lot were lads, just a load of kids, they were well out of order.
We are talking about at least 12 years ago on Sloper Road when Ninian Park was still open.

Proper lads would only fight lads who wanted it, I never saw any lads in my day ever attack innocent fans.

Times have moved on drastically and for the good I thought, but some clubs it seems have not moved on and have been bullying small groups of Cardiff fans nowadays because Cardiff have low support nowadays and for this above is totally bullying.

I know Mark Young very well since 1982 when I met him away at Huddersfield v City, and he is a decent City fan, who does not look for trouble.

In the 80's Leeds were wreckers and attacked in big numbers.

I saw Chelsea / Leeds 5 times and not once did they do Chelsea.

Also I went to Millwall/Leeds home /Away all Leeds did was wreck and smash stuff up.

Leeds/Cardiff early 80's Cardiff took 250 lads on the train there and arrived at 12pm, because Leeds were not expecting Cardiff there number by the pub Prince of Wales in Leeds were low,they never even came forward and there was No police for 5 mins as Cardiff ran out of the train station looking for Leeds.
