Simple format for you: you go to the gym everyday, and train with the side every week- then turn up for games with your local side - coach doesn’t pick you or puts you on last 10 mins 20 if your lucky every few games- are you as fit as the lads who have played the full 90 every game? Match fit? There two totally different levels of fitness.

Now it’s there job the train etc I get that - but if your not getting games then your not match fit.

However IF you see Tomlin at Forest get game after game then your conclusion has to be that Warnock has wasted a talent because after all that he’s quite obviously fit.

Teams have worked us out since our amazing start to the season

If you flood the midfield against us it stops the ball getting to our wingers and we are reduced to hoof ball up to Ken

Zohore has many qualities but winning headers and holding the ball up are not his strengths so I assume this is where Madine comes into play..whether he plays instead of Ken are more likely alongside him

We have transferred our main creative midfielder so I can only assume our central midfielders job will be to work their socks off, protect the back four and get the ball forward as quick as possible

I don't think it's going to be very pretty, but it's very effective at this level

I don't think we have the centre backs to play three at three back. Morrison and Bamba especially, like to know they can't dominate a certain area, they get lost with three of them.

You've got this all wrong.Lets review what actually happened.Tomlin arrived from Bristol very overweight just about fit enough for parks football.Despite the best efforts of the coaches and management to get him fit(NW's own words)his fitness does not improve to a standard where it can be risked starting him.Starting him in that state is not only putting the cart before the horse but sends the wrong message to the rest of the squad that puts in the required effort to keep fit.Could you imagine if someone like Patterson had the same attitude,we wouldn't have seen him back till 2020.The problem with Tomlin is Tomlin himself not anything we've try to do with him.As he refuses to move from Leicester the problem could be solved by him joining Forrest which is only a short distance from his home.Playing him in his current state in a team hoping for promotion is complete madness and I hope the lad realises this is probably his last chance at this level unless he starts acting like a pro footballer and not just picking up paychecks.

3 at the back we look very vulnerable in defence, 4 much more solid i think as our defensive record has showed with 4 at the back this season, why change your shape when your one of the best defensive record sides in the league?

Onus is on him to get fit. He’s a professional footballer. If he would be an asset he would play him.
