NEIL WARNOCK:

Elland Road atmosphere

"They’re desperate to get in the play-offs, we’re desperate to stay there and there’s going to be something at stake in all the 18 games."

NEIL WARNOCK:

What to expect from Leeds

"They’re a good passing side, how they lost the game against Millwall I don’t know. 2-0 down for all that time with 10 men and then they lose in the last minute, the character they showed to get back to 3-2."

"They have some really good players. Roofe, the two wide lads, their really good so we’re going to have to be on our game. The atmosphere is so good I think. I like going back up to Yorkshire."

NEIL WARNOCK:

Full blooded game?

"They all are in the Championship, I’ve not seen a game that’s not. They’re trying to get in the play-offs, we’re desperate to stay in the play-offs. We’re going to find that in every game, there’s going to be something at stake."

"We need to get the lads back, Gunnarsson did his first running this week on the non-weight bearing thing and that’s a good sign.
If we can get him back for the run-in, in the last 12 games, that would be fantastic. We’ve missed Gunnars. We’ve had major injuries throughout and that’s why I’ve done what I’ve done, so that we have good coverage in all areas."

"We have good lads who are not on the bench and I had a chat with the all yesterday and said ‘I’m afraid that’s how it is’, we just have to think of ourselves."

Neil Warnock delivers verdict on Leeds fans ahead of clash v Cardiff

By Danny Wright

Cardiff manager Neil Warnock has raved about the Leeds United fans ahead of his side’s trip to Elland Road on Saturday afternoon.

Warnock, 69, spent just over a year managing Leeds between February 2012 and April 2013, and although his time there was short-lived, he believes it is the biggest club he has worked at in his entire career.

Since leaving Elland Road, Warnock has had spells at Crystal Palace and Rotherham before taking up the reigns at Cardiff in October 2016.

The South Wales club look as though they are well in contention for promotion back to the Premier League this season as they sit fourth in the standings and have a game in hand on the three teams above them.

Warnock has admitted he cannot wait to return to Yorkshire to manage the Bluebirds against Thomas Christiansen’s men, but he will no doubt hope that his side can keep up their promotion-hunting momentum on Saturday afternoon.

“It’s a fabulous club and biggest club I’ve been at by a mile, no disrespect to Cardiff or any of my other clubs. It’s just a massive club, the fans are good, all round the area for 20 miles, there’s nothing but Leeds United, they’re all Leeds United mad and there’d be full houses every week if they got back,” he said, as quoted by LeedsLive.

“I had a great time living there, met some lovely people but it wasn’t meant to be. The majority of fans there don’t give me too much stick because I kept the club stable for a while when I was there.”

He added: “They have some really good players. Roofe, the two wide lads, their really good so we’re going to have to be on our game. The atmosphere is so good I think. I like going back up to Yorkshire.”

Leeds’ hopes of promotion have taken a battering in the past couple of weeks as they sit 10th in the table and four points adrift of the top six.

Christiansen has not overseen a win since Boxing Day with four defeats and two draws in the six games since.

Three of them games have seen the Whites had players sent off in what has been a very poor month of discipline at Elland Road.

Samuel Saiz and Eunan O’Kane, Kalvin Phillips and Liam Cooper are all expected to be sidelined against Cardiff due to suspensio

Warnock needs to be positive in his approach to this game no playing for a draw which I fear he's prone to do
