I think he'll be a big hit for us and will be a good fit. (In any case at least he should be fit unlike Lee Tomlin ).
And while I hope his bad boy antics are well and truly behind him, I think the song should reflect the fact that he's a bit a rough and tough.
For those old enough to remember the song is an old one by Jim Croce who was a really good songwriter but sadly died young in a plane crash.

No its Madine (as in marine -see another thread ).
Seriously whatever you do.... DO NOT call him Madine (as in swine).
A couple of other people have made that mistake and it gets really riled (as in wild).

A few seasons ago we played Sheffield Wednesday at home and GM was sub, and the Wednesday fans sang “Gary Madine, Goal Machine!” to the tune of Tom Hark - they must have kept it up for a good 10 minutes. Think he came on and scored.

Yes very good. I like it. To be honest I had thought about using Denis Denis myself!
It was written about a boy Denis, but I liked it as I was going out with a girl Denise at the time.
I chose Bad bad Leroy Brown cos Marine has a bad boy image.
Let's keep the ideas coming maybe one will be taken up by the "bluebird choir!"
