Thank Goodness it’s over! Now back to football!

Is a mid winter transfer window really necessary? Would it work if they extended the summer one to the end of September and then didn’t have one until the following July? I know they are reducing the window next summer ( in a World Cup year!) but this January window is only of benefit to Sky!
