Former Bristol City attacker Lee Tomlin could be on the move again.

According to reports from HITC Sport Cardiff City are looking to do a swap deal with Nottingham Forest for Jamie Ward in a late deal on transfer deadline day.

Tomlin moved to Championship rivals Cardiff in the summer on a three-year deal but has struggled at his new club, playing just 16 games and only making five starts in the Championship this season.

Tomlin is thought to be one of the highest earners at Cardiff.

Respected journalist Peter O’Rourke is reporting that Forest and Cardiff City are concocting a swap deal involving Ward, the 31-year-old striker, and Lee Tomlin. New Forest boss Aitor Karanka is a big fan of Tomlin and Ward would fit the bill for the Bluebirds in terms of being able to play anywhere across the forward line.

Jamie Ward is 31 years old and can't get in the forest team. Just another Halford.
How is he going to help a promotion push?

This wouldn't surprise me. Tomlin from the Leicester area, Nottingham just up the road. I recall that LT didn't want to move from that area when he was with Bristol City?

Former Bristol City attacker Lee Tomlin could be on the move again.

According to reports from HITC Sport Cardiff City are looking to do a swap deal with Nottingham Forest for Jamie Ward in a late deal on transfer deadline day.

Tomlin moved to Championship rivals Cardiff in the summer on a three-year deal but has struggled at his new club, playing just 16 games and only making five starts in the Championship this season.

Tomlin is thought to be one of the highest earners at Cardiff.

According to HITC Sport Ward was expected to join Millwall on transfer deadline day, but Cardiff City have made a late move for the Northern Ireland international.

When Tomlin moved to the Bluebirds for an undisclosed fee in the summer Bristol City manager Lee Johnson revealed that the 29-year-old was still commuting from the East Midlands while he was at the Robins and his family still lived there.

So a move back to that area of the country would certainly appear to be favourable for him.

New Nottingham Forest manager Aitor Karanka is understood to be a big admirer of Tomlin having worked with him during his time in charge of Middlesbrough.

Totally agree just seems oh so desperate ... im not usualy so negative on potential transfers but jamie ward at 31/32 does nothing for me at all ... there must be better out there ...

Our most creative player swapped its in my mind that he has been wasted at City to date as much as I love Warnock he add the flair we are missing and creates things from nothing
