Grabban has joined villa on loan until the end of season

Reported on Sky.
Disappointing news as you can’t compare Grabbon & Madine. Grabbon guarantees you goals and even though we seemed to have been in talks for a long time he has decided to go to Villa.
Seems that money has been thrown at the Madine deal whereas it could be money that was the stumbling lock getting Grabbon over the line.
Grabbon would have given us a far better chance of being near the top of the table at the end of the season.

Well this has made us look all a bit silly, VT not interested in spending the money on Grabbers

Villa reporting deal 'close but not 'done' yet
Fully expect it to go through though and we'll have to wait and find out if he was ever a realistic option for us
City getting (quote) "warmer" on one or two more additions but "not done yet" and the targets are being kept well under wraps
Take that as you like but the source is as sound as they come and there are one or two on here who have had the same information
Fingers crossed, as I'd be disappointed not to add to our squad right now

Aston Villa agree deal to sign Lewis Grabban

Aston Villa have agreed a loan deal for Lewis Grabban
A loan deal has been agreed for Grabban, 30, to spend the rest of the season at Villa Park, according to Sky Sports.
Grabban fired 12 goals in 19 league appearances during a loan spell with Championship strugglers Sunderland before returning to Bournemouth earlier this month.
The Cherries had been hoping to secure a permanent sale but struggled to find a buyer.
Cardiff City have also held talks with Grabban but he stalled on a switch to Wales.
Bluebirds boss Neil Warnock has now turned his attention to Bolton Wanderers target man Gary Madine.

Maybe Warnock feels Madine is better for us than Grabban ???

I think the positive of Madine (If he comes) is his physicality in comparison to what we currently have and we can only go with what Neil Warnock thinks, which is good enough for me when it boils down to it
An interesting evening ahead

If it happens, then fine, it seems to be the player holding off on the deal. Grabban and his agent playing a game. Wether its the lure of a "bigger" club or they are offering a better fee to the player. Good luck to him.
Warnock has always said he will ot overspend and waste money, and it seems that he has stuck to his guns.
The club have fully supported him always, and this will be his call not to go all out and waste the money, he knows what he's doing.
But cue the muppets and simpletons that will blame this transfer no go on Tan.......

Agreed If he is good in the air as people are saying, we should be able to provide the service, and maybe that's what Warnock is looking for!
Exactly Warnock knows what we need and what he wants !!!

He was the talk of the City throughout the January transfer window and even had talks with City but Lewis Grabban is on his way to promotion rivals, Aston Villa.

Tried to play us and NW having none of it IMO. always think when they drag out for so long they don't really want to be here.

onward.

Just a mercenary annis he talked but did not commit? He waited for what's happened a bigger opportunity to materialise and good bye nothing city could do really if player does this

You can't compare Grabban to Maddine as you can't compare Cardiff to Villa.
3 years younger and he looks a unit. Time for kenny to play off someone ?

That's a blow, can't help but feel we should have made more of an effort to tie that up earlier in Jan.

Grabban by name, money Grabber by nature

After missing out on Bodin, this is very disappointing.
We need to get a tidy striker in or we'll struggle to stay in play-off places.

Faddling raging.
We are THIRD in the league. The lack of proactive transfers from our club beggars belief.
Clearly ithey aren't interested in promotion then.
The life that NW has breathed back into the club is going to be wasted.
I know there's a few hours left in the window but we are now shopping at Poundland again recruiting players other clubs don't want.
I'd be surprised if we get anyone at all and the the club bullshit of ' we'll save the money for the summer' ' he's no better than what we have ' blah blah.
It's clear we the supporters have more ambition than the fecking owners. If Bamba goes to West Spam it would not surprise me if NW said feck I I'm off and I for one wouldn't blame him one iota.
Absolutely fecking hacked off.

Ffs cannot force players to sign for any club! Jan window is a lottery and players and clubs know this and minipulate things to their own advantage Wether it's the club or player.!
Cannot blame any club for failing to get the player they want.

Agree mate, the club say they want more support but I’m afraid they won’t be coming back in their droves if we’re signing the likes of Madine.

Doubt if signed Messi it would encourage fans back! after all its because of 4yrs ago we've lost them apparently? On serious note let's wait see what happens before deadline people could be singing different tune then.
