West Ham United want to test Cardiff City's resolve by launching a last-gasp deadline day attempt to sign Sol Bamba, according to reports.

The Daily Star report that David Moyes' men could swoop for Bamba to solve their current injury crisis.

Bamba is an integral part of Neil Warnock's squad and it is thought the Bluebirds wouldn't entertain offers for the Ivorian.

West Ham are eyeing Sol Bamba.

Bamba is a key part of Neil Warnock's promotion-chasing Cardiff side.

But the centre-back could be subject of a late raid from West Ham.

The Irons want a new defender on board to aid their Premier League survival battle.

And Starsport have been told a late bid could be on the cards for the Ivory Coast international.

David Moyes is down to the bare bones at the London Stadium with a lenthy injury list.

Bamba doesn't have top flight experience but is a seasoned international.

The 33-year-old joined Cardiff on a free transfer in October 2016 after leaving Leeds.

Speaking last year, Cardiff boss Neil Warnock claimed Bamba is better than £75m Liverpool man Virgil van Dijk.

He said: "I think Sol Bamba is slightly better than Van Dijk, defensive wise.

"Van Dijk's got better attributes on the ball but I don't think he's a better defender than Sol Bamba.

"I think Van Dijk's is more confident on the ball and easier on the eye but I don't think he's better defensively."

Exactly. He was saying he doesn’t have to let anyone go that he wants to keep. Unless there’s a stupid offer, Bamba will still be here tomorrow.

Sky Sports discussed West Ham, no mention of Bamba at all, they think Moyes will sign Hugil today only.

Why bother getting a striker if he goes we may as well just say feck it stick Halford up fron he is tall

If a offer around 3million came in for him i would let him go but wouldnt like it.

We would still have 2 very good centre backs to play and 2 very capable back ups.

Could you really stand in the way of Bamba finally getting to play in the premier league for a huge club ?
He deserves the chance to show his talent at the highest level.

It would be bad for us but great for him and aftdf all the years of grinding it out in the championship he deserves a shot at the premier

I saw a Black Range Rover Reg 9 SOL overtake me on the M25 last night - anyone know if that is Bambas car? I have no idea of any transfer news apart form what I have just read on here and am now overseas, but I couldn't help wondering at the time if he was heading somewhere.

There is no truth in the reported West Ham United interest in Sol Bamba.
