Thing is if he fires us to the Prem, £6m is chips. But if we don't go up, it's going to look very silly and I doubt we'll get over £1.5m back for him.

Even if you believe the 'up to £6m' figure that was quoted last night - and ignore the Bolton denials this morning that any Cardiff bid has been accepted - how much do you honestly think we would pay up front? I have no better idea than you but my guess is that over half of the quoted figure would be dependent on promotion and a bucketful of goals scored. Like the Tomlin fee, there are usually unrealistic add ons that the selling club can claim as part of the number to pacify their own fans. It's all smoke and mirrors. I am confident that we will not pay £6m up front for Gary Madine even if/when a bid is accepted.
