Cardiff City striker hunt latest as Neil Warnock says Bluebirds have made bids for 'three or four players'

Warnock is doing everything he can to bolster his squad this month, but his search for a new forward is yet to prove fruitful

Neil Warnock:
"My chairman and the owner might be delighted when I say I won't be spending money just for the sake of it. If we can't get better players in then we'll go with what we've got.”

MONDAY 29 JAN 2018

Neil Warnock has revealed Cardiff City have made offers for as many as four new players this month, but none of them have been accepted.

The Bluebirds have already secured the loan signings of Marko Grujic and Yanic Wildschut from Liverpool and Norwich City respectively this month.

Cardiff's veteran boss has made no secret of his wish to add a striker to his ranks before the conclusion of the January transfer window following the crushing news that Danny Ward will miss the remainder of the campaign with a knee injury.

Bournemouth's Lewis Grabban, Ipswich Town forward David McGoldrick and Bolton hitman Gary Madine have all been touted with moves to South Wales during the winter window.

If that is what the chairman and owner are saying then that seems to go against "A push for promotion" :bluescarf: :bluebird:

Everyone wants to add a decent striker in January but its not so easy as we are finding out.

Rather we didn't get no one though than waste money for the sake of it. What's happened to Bogle?

It’s all bollocks. There was never any intention. He said and did the same thing last January. Everyone knows Pilkinyton is a poor cheap option. Never a forward. That’s any chance of promotion gone then. What about the 6 million we supposedly had avgilable at the start of the season. Let’s not forget the cock up he made of the Tomlin transfer. Fat and unfit. Let’s not forget he bought Ward and seldom started him as well. No doubt there’ll be people saying I’m negative. Maybe - but it’s he truth.

It's just wheeling and dealing, they want top whack we want them as cheap as possible, it 's a game of poker now until Wednesday night !!!

Why do you think there as so many deals done on the last day of every transfer window ?

It's because clubs hold out for as much as they come, sometimes the club pays it sometimes they don't, but usually a last minute compromise can be be made, as long as it suits both parties.

To be honest, I think Pilkington would be better than the other two, so it's only Grabban or some else we don't yet know about that could improve us.

FFS the guy has got us to 3rd with the smallest budget of any team in the top10!!!!

Tomlin hasn't paid off ...yet!!!

Ward was a great alternative off the bench and did very well when he started (unfortunately he got injured when we needed him most) that's just bad luck

Not sure what people expect...automatic promotion out of the championship with a small budget hardly ever happens

It's not like going down your local car sales place and saying I'll have that one. First of all the player you want has to be available, then you have the small matter of money which will be quite a lot if you are after real quality. Then you have agents to haggle with, and also the player has to want to come here in the first place. A proven goalscorer who is considered to be value for money will almost certainly be looked at by other clubs, not just us. To top it all off you have to take FFP into consideration, and this club knows that only too well. We have to remember, Cardiff City is not exactly the most glamorous club in the league, and not every player who is available will be desperate to move to S Wales.

Warnock has a habit of saying one thing today and saying something completely different tomorrow,I'm beginning to take with a pinch of salt everything this man says, just my personal opinion of course
