Observations

Mon Jan 29, 2018 10:17 am

After almost 24 hours after the game i have made certain personal observations, the cardiff team who started the game would not be able to make the huge step up to the Premiership even Ralles would have to improve his game,so Tan would have to invest millions if we hope to survive in the Premiership,The other observation I made was how desperate we are for a goalscorer,I noticed Warnock is falling over himself trying to make Pilkington a better player than he is,memo to Warnock Pilkington is nowhere near a substitute for a genuine goalscorer, again these are my personal views and anyone who disagrees with me cut out the personal abuse and just state why you disagree with my comments

these are rather odd observations to make against the best team in football at the moment.

I'm quite sure City wouldn't be running against manCity for the PL title. That's my observation for what it's worth

Re: Observations

I have no doubt that this current City team would not survive in the PL. We are nowhere near the best side in the Championship, so our current group of players would struggle big time in the top division. The money available to us if we were to go up would hopefully get us a few genuine quality players, and then we would be able to compete with enough teams to make sure at least three finish below us.

I thought your response was odd to be honest, the last time I looked Man City were in the Premiership with a number of other teams who,in my view would have beat us yesterday,I was hoping you could have commented on the specific points i made

ok, i specifically think you are going overboard based on a cup match against the best team in the world

Ok let me try to pin you down this way,in your view how many current City players could hack it in the Premiership also is Pilkington good enough to be our main striker as I feel Warnock is intermating

first point is impossible to answer. would you have said jordon mutch would be one of our better players last time before the season kicked off?

what about danny drinkwater when he was here on loan? did he look like someone who could win the league and be sold for 40m?

Different players react differently to the challenge, someone like ralls could excel, someone like mange might look more composed. but then rhys healy could get a run of games and be our top scorer :laughing5: look at glenn murray at brighton as an example, im certainly not going to judge any of the players based on a match against man city

Second point he never said he was our main striker, i believe thats still zohore, and i also believe someone else will still come in before the transfer window closes.

I would make any judgements based on this. This team would struggle in the prem clearly but they're by and large journey men who doing really well to be where they are. Some may surprise us as the game gets quicker but opens out you may get Liam Feeney or the like turning their £ 50 million quid full backs inside out. OK it was only for 10 minutes but it was the last thing I expected to see when I got up yesterday morning.

Re: Observations

Mon Jan 29, 2018 12:00 pm

Based on the one weekend of games. Are we more likely to be relegated than say Newport county? Who i thought dominated a top premier league side for large chunks of their game.

We fronted up well but were well beaten by a team that has only failed to take maximum league points against actual premier league sides on 3 occasions, losing once.

Assuming we didn’t strengthen too.

I think you are being a tad harsh on the performance yesterday :-/

Re: Observations

Mon Jan 29, 2018 12:23 pm

I think Manga would do better in the premier league than the championship, and Morrison must be getting closer to someone having a bite if we don't make it.

We have no x factor. Our X factor was set plays last time around however dull and formulaic the football. We potentially have more weapons but the delivery is poor.

If we went up i hope we do a Burnley and not spend a penny and secure our post Tan future. Cheap season tickets, no bull and have a laugh that season get relegated and have another pop but with a slightly better squad.

We got lucky (forgetting Cornelius) with Medel and Caulker that there was someone as dull as we were to pay the extra ordinary amounts for "premiership" quality.

Re: Observations

Mon Jan 29, 2018 12:46 pm

I think we are maybe 4 quality players off, being able to survive in the premier league.
I think our defence and even our goalkeepers are good enough (Not every team is as good as Man City)

2 in midfield and a new striker and someone to play the elusive no.10 role.
Saying that without a new striker and a commanding midfielder, coming in, in the next few days it'll be a struggle to make the Play offs.

Re: Observations

Mon Jan 29, 2018 12:49 pm

I think its quite obvious we would need quite a few players if we did go up. In saying that a couple of good players can help improve others. I certainly wouldn't write them off on the back of that game.

Re: Observations

Mon Jan 29, 2018 12:57 pm

Warnock knows this. Warnock would spend any money he is given (should he get us up) wisely. Far more wisely than Malky.

Trust Warnock. I do.

Re: Observations

Horses for courses. Right now we want to get IN to the prem. we need players that will achieve that. We can worry about not falling out again when that situation presents

I think your last response has answered my question

Re: Observations

Mon Jan 29, 2018 2:29 pm

I think your observations are also true about the majority of prem sides. You may have noticed Man City tuning a number of these sides too.So your assumption based on this one game is seriously flawed. All promoted sides need strengthening,City will be no different.
