Our club lost its soul

Sun Jan 28, 2018 6:39 pm

Never seen so much respect on and off the pitch bring back the days of 10,000 crowd and 2,000 nutters away our club has lost its soul I hate it!

Wanna elaborate on this "respect"? I suppose you want us fighting man city fans from city centre to Canton? Back in the good old days of hooliganism and violence when we didn't have women and children supporting the club :? :?

I miss the throwing of piss bags. Good old days!!

Re: Our club lost its soul

Do you miss the days of fans climbing the fencing, lobbing bricks etc?

Re: Our club lost its soul

Sun Jan 28, 2018 7:46 pm

You follow Cardiff for footballing reasons, we’ll at least I’d expect you do. This respect you talk about, would it mean that we as fans respect the quality of the team we played today? Which is perfectly fine because they are the best in the world Or do you mean we gave them too much respect by not fighting them or intimidating them? If it’s the latter you need to get with the times, those days are long gone.
Just looking for some clarity because I can’t see what you are trying to get at.

No he means thousands of city fans waiting for the Man City bus to arrive blocking the fecking way, then thousands of women and kids chatting and going back and fore for f*cking chips and burgers during the game.

Then idiots clapping the Man City goals, the atmosphere was rubbish, thank God that’s over.

Perhaps women and children feel more comfortable in this environment these days. Family day out perhaps.

Dinosaurs that think charging at the away fans make us a proper club are no longer welcome :occasion5:

I'm not sure OP is saying this. I agree with him. The passion has gone.

Taking the results out of it, who can say they enjoyed yesterdays experience over the Leeds cup game?

I was in Newport on Saturday. The place was buzzing. 100's of Spurs fans in the pubs and no hint of touble. But at the ground, it was bouncing. And in some ways the crowd had a similar effect to ours at the Leeds game. Spurs were made to feel uncomfortable, by County players and fans.

Polar opposite to the experience of the MC players yesterday. Too much respect on and off the pitch.

Incidently, a nice touch from Spurs.......they suggested and will pay the cost of all additional seating at Rodney Parade, all of their players came back out for ages before boarding the coach for selfies and autographs and the strong rumour is that they have forfeited their portion of the match takings. Classy.

Never had any major opinion on Potchettino, he's now my favourite big-time manager. 1st class the way he was during his trip to s.wales

Agreed. It doesn't inspire anyone having such a big stadium at our natural habitat. Championship football

Problem is what defines a proper club today, because if you think that today’s match day experience is better than in days gone by then you were never there sorry

No l took my son to games from the age of eight in the mid eighties until he went with his mates,in the good old days ,never a problem
No times change as you’ve said but as people have posted in this thread and as I’ve understood it we need a little more Newport County and a lot less Cardiff f ucking City

1 l would ban all live football matches from tv except regional games let’s say for our area Wales and the West
2 Make all clubs fan owned
3 salary cap
4 only allow fans to sit at games if they are over 65 or is that 66 now,or can produce a medical certificate from atos
5 teams must have at least half of team from homegrown players
6 all match day revenue shared with away team
