We got away score-wise without being embarrassed and an improved second half performance will possibly leave a sweeter taste than may have been the case.
HOWEVER, regardless of the fact that we were up against one of the best teams in the world, I ask myself how can a team with such a low skill set possibly compete at the highest level next year, should we be promoted.
As much as I like Neil Warnock, I'm at a loss to see a bright future with him in charge, even if he were given zillions to spend next year. The football we play is from a bygone era and will not usher in a sustained period of success at a higher level if we continue with it.
Dare I say it, Swansea and Bournemouth to name but 2 developed their own style of non-agricultural football which has stood them in good stead for a few seasons.
It is something we should aspire to, which I believe would have the added benefit of enticing back some of the missing thousands.

Bring back Russell Slade and his Real Madrid style.
