“ Only one team really ever in the game/But “

Cardiff City 0 Man City 2

FA CUP 4th Round

For me there was really only one ever team in the match Man City, But there is nothing really lost as they have spent multi millions and Cardiff consist of mainly free transfers.
City today played one of the best teams in Europe and it showed.

Man City’s Defence and their midfield are just second to none.

City will have made a lot of money out if this and brilliant to see a 32,500 crowd for home game :thumbright:

Joe Bennett being sent if was stupid and might be costly for City.

Annis even if we score they would have gone up a gear always in control! But rather play them and lose than play championship team or lower and lose! :bluescarf:

The richest team won.

If only we had one or two above championship quality midfielders we could have competed, no disrespect to our current midfield meant.

What today showed was how far apart in quality we are from Bristol City never mind Man City.

Shocking performance. Remember Bristol City and what about Newport yesterday.
Stop beating around the bush.

Man City are not only extremely talented but showed today that they can do the basic stuff as well like tracking back and making tackles. very good team. Not sure about Warnocks tactics, playing man marking, we should have played a higher line in my opinion. Lost the one player we could really have done with in Sol Bamba.
On the plus side, it was fantastic to the see the stadium looking full, we looked like a Premiership set up. Atmosphere sounded great as well, well done to all that attended :bluescarf:

The majority of the team gave their all, and that’s all I ask :ayatollah:

The better team won, and they could have scored more if they wanted to.

My only disappointment was Kenneth Zohore. There were times when Paterson had to scream at him to close down the defenders. Paterson my MOTM :thumbright:

All about the league for us now :thumbright:

What is showed more than anything was the need for a STRIKER or TWO.

Everyone gave their best, thats all we can ask.
Anyone criticising our performance needs to get real.
We were up against a team funded by one of the richest countrys in the world.

Our players look in total shock and awe in the first half with the standard of team they were yup against. The 2nd half was much better and I'm taking it our lot now knew what they were up against.

I'm still not convinced we have it upfront though.

Surprised Warnock took so long to take Zohore off. That £16m bid seems a distant memory now

One word 'devasted' so looking forward to this game, never in it,no closing down,no harassing, and watching sky sports news yesterday the pundits forecasted a man city win, which I fully expected but they said that they expected us to put a fight which never happened. For those probably thinking I'm a so called plastic supporter was there for the Everton game in the 70's the win over Leeds and in the bob bank for the memorable goal of blakey. All I can say is hat's off to Lee Johnson and his wurzel team for the guts and passion they showed against them, what made my day even was arriving home for my mrs to say the bbc barely had a good word to say about us.

Absolutely! :thumbright:

City were on a hiding to nothing today and (given the gulf in finance and quality between them) put up a pretty good show. I certainly enjoyed the game and (judging by the excellent atmosphere produced for a change) I thought most of those in attendance did, too

I think that Pep Guardiola learned lots from his team's games v Bristol City recently and had his team better prepared for what Cardiff City had to offer. His team were patient, didn't give the ball away easily and were frighteningly fast in their counter attacking at every opportunity

I think two of the things that impressed me most today were (a) Man City's cohesion as a unit, and (b) how players (Sterling in particular) didn't stop trying to go forward for the whole 90 minutes, whilst chasing back to defend whenever required

It is also worth noting that several Premier League sides have performed a lot poorer than Cardiff City did when playing Manchester City this season!

Good day for Cardiff City (no embarrassment and a financial success) and it all bodes well for the remainder of a season in which we can now concentrate on the job in hand. We're still 3rd, within a game win of 2nd and at least two more players to come in this week, according to reports

Well done Cardiff City and its supporters today; but over now and time to move on! :thumbright: :ayatollah: :bluescarf: :bluebird:

Disappointed with the result obviously, but not surprised by it. Man City have been handing out these lessons to so called better teams all season. The lads did their best and if we can get a genuine goalscorer in we will be right up there at the end of the season. One thing for sure, Zohore is not that scorer!

Very good Sven.

Personally I think we were shocked at how good Man City were in the first half. Unfortunately for us not one of their players were having an off day. I believe we were a lot better in the 2nd half because of what we experienced in the first half. Bottom line for me is we prevented a 5-0 drubbing which would have been difficult to bounce back from.

Team did ok and they didn't let anyone down. We played against one of the best teams in the world with the best manager in the world who have spent 300m+ whilst we struggle to spend 4m  We created chances and gave it our all and that's all you can ask for.

Even though their squad cost millions and millions the way Pep gets them to play the way they do is unbelievable, Mourinho for all he has achieved as a manager is currently way behind Pep.
