Getting caught speeding on the motorway

Sun Jan 28, 2018 2:00 pm

Just wondering if anyone on here has been done for speeding on the motorway. I got done going through the variables by the Bryn glas tunnels which is carless of me . However on the long stretches of the motorway everyone seems to be going 80+ anyway.

I did once very early on a Sunday morning by Pencoed. 83mph
Nobody else in sight and the parasite was in a van on the flyover.

Your allowed 10% + 3 over the limit ie 58 for a 50 and you can go on a course promising not to do it again courses all around s wales cost around 110
Over this and it’s 3 points . If you are over 30 mph over ie 100 in a 70 expect a ban sorry or if you were doing 80 in a 50

Driving back to London after the Burnley game in 87/ 88 doing 106 down the M1. 21 day ban. I'll be sweating bit after yesterday though. Back to Essex via Nottingham to drop my son off, so I may well have got caught out somewhere.

I got caught doing 38 in a 30 zone in Kidderminster about 8 months ago, was a long road so didn't even realise it was a 30, I took the driving awareness course option, cost about £100 and was 4 hours long, the course was run by 2 guys, loved their job, was pretty boring but suppose that's why it Is ran that way so you don't do it again.

Smart Motorways are getting ridiculous, seen some guy get flashed on last stretch of M5 last night, there's 50 into 30 zone for 2.5 miles, cause they're doing road repairs, he must have been doing about 45 so it's his own fault but to do 30mph on a motorway when nobody is working in the evenings does my nut in.

I wouldn't now and I shouldn't have then but it was 30 years ago.
