GRABBAN WAIT: INTERESTING THOUGHTS...

Will Lewis Grabban be regretting Sunderland departure?
By Paul Joannou

The striker is yet to find a new club since returning to Bournemouth.

AFC Bournemouth striker Lewis Grabban has yet to make a move in the January transfer window after leaving Sunderland at the start of the month.

The 30-year-old scored 12 goals while on loan at the Black Cats, but requested to have his deal cut short to pursue a permanent move elsewhere, as the BBC reported.

It has been almost three weeks since the forward returned to Bournemouth but he has not really come close to securing a move and he could well be regretting his decision.

Grabban has not been involved for Bournemouth so will not have played a game since December 23. His fitness levels will not be what they should be and he will be lacking match sharpness.

Wales Online claims that Cardiff City are the favourites to sign him ahead of Wolverhampton Wanderers and Aston Villa, who were all reportedly interested at the start of the window.

Cardiff need a striker to fill the void left by the injured Danny Ward, but Grabban will need time and a few matches to get back up to speed which could cost him if he doesn't find form quickly.

Had Grabban seen out his loan spell at Sunderland and continued to score goals to help them stay in the Championship, he would have certainly got the move he is seemingly craving in the summer, when he would have had a full pre-season to settle in.

It has been a month since he played competitive football and it is clearly taking longer than anticipated to find a solution to suit all parties. In that time, he could have been scoring goals for Sunderland and continued to enhance his reputation. Alas, it was not to be.

A unfit Grabban who can play 30-60mins is better than what we have at the moment

HITC freelance sports reporter.

No evidence just another one of those "look at me I've got an English GCSE and can write a story" guys.

We've got our own that sneaks his musings onto WalesOnline.

Whatever the reason for the wait I just hope this proposed transfer does not drag on for much longer because it's becoming tedious

Any idea why there seems to be a holdup?
