Neil Warnock

Sun Jan 07, 2018 11:49 am

What I'm about to write will not please the "in Neil Warnock we trust brigade" but I never care about upsetting my detractors. First of all, I believe Warnock is losing the plot on and off the pitch. Saying he was satisfied with 0-0 draw after 80 minutes against Division 2 Mansfield summed up Warnocks mindset right now. I also believe there is some credence in the rumour that he has lost the confidence of the dressing room.

I know some of Neil Warnock's supporters will bring up our injury list as a reason for our decline but I would argue that all our competitors have injuries to contend with but seem to get those players fit a lot faster than City manage to do without their players breaking down again. Is there something wrong with Warnocks backroom staff? Are they fit for purpose? Also, can Neil Warnock think on his feet during a game? Does he have a Plan B when things are not going right during a game? His use of substitutions is also a cause for concern.

Summing up, what Warnock does in the transfer window is crucial. He really needs to bring in quality; players who will improve our team performance. So please, Mr Warnock, no more Poundland shopping. I know it depends on how much of a 'War Chest' Mr Tan has given you, so it's also a test of his (Mr Tan's) ambitions to achieve Premier League status. I fear otherwise we will even lose our chance of a playoff position.

Now I'm going to sit back and wait for the onslaught from the "we trust" brigade knowing there are people on here who agree with me.

It seems to me you cannot be critical of a situation without being tasked as a doom and gloom merchant even though you can come out with some valid arguments to support your case.

Warnock has done well since joining us but is now going through his first test. He deserves the chance to get things back on track. I feel he will only be able to do that when he has some of his main players back. One of those players he needs back ASAP is Danny Ward. We really have a gap to fill up front and as for me I'm afraid Zohore is not doing it. TBh it is sticking out like a sore thump we need someone to put the ball in the net and take the pressure off the rest of the team.

I trust him and I think he has done well so far this season. I have never shared the general view on here that we had a fantastic squad with strength in depth, something many fans said pre-season. I was the complete opposite, I thought we had a decent group of first team players with not much in the way of back up when injuries and suspensions kicked in. We have had a poor run of results, and it looks worse because of the brilliant run we had through the early part of the season. We are still way ahead of where I thought we would be right now.
Warnock is going to struggle to bring top quality players in this month. He is going to have to do a clever bit of wheeling and dealing as it has been made clear plenty of times that we are working to a very tight budget.
I said at the start of the season that I thought we were virtually certain of a top ten finish, and if luck went our way we may even just get a play off place. I still feel the same, and if we can finish anywhere in the top six I reckon Warnock and his players will have done a fantastic job in a league that we all know is one of the toughest to get out of. Even if we end up just outside the play offs, that will be a huge improvement on where we were before he arrived, and all done with hardly any money.

Re: Neil Warnock

May have some validity in comments but you cannot dismiss ten players out injured as not having any effect on teams performance? Some of the injuries are in such crucial position's that must effect performances.
But will say it's odd the recurring injuries happening. :old:

Imagine if we were not 3rd in the league, then you would be having a right old rant! Why write as if we deserve someone better. hes the best we have had in a long while, the people of Cardiff on the other hand dont deserve a team 3rd in the league....

Re: Neil Warnock

Entitled to your opinion, but taking us from 23rd to 3rd in a year entitles Warnock to some respect and some leeway when things have gone wrong. I trust in him more than any other manager we have had.

Well I certainly won't let you down because being a poster on here since 2010 I've had the unenviable joy of seeing most of your posts.I have never ever seen a post by you that is positive never mind constructive being anti whatever incumbent is currently occupying the managers chair. The points you raised one by one.

I see you've joined the bellend brigade using the latest fashionable saying"lost the dressing room" where as all the evidence points to the opposite. The result of that game stops the rot and the fact Morrison came through it and reported no problem is a huge bonus as well as another game under the belts of our two strikers.Zahore is still a couple of games away from full fitness and I believe we won't see the best of Heally for a while yet,he'll start taking those chances soon. When you look at the teams around us they've all spent alot more money than us and have nothing like the injuries and have better squad sizes than us.As for the type of injuries and the time taken for recovery please show me another top six side that have as many injuries as us.You can't can you, but don't that stop you peddling your usual bullshit without any facts

Your last paragraph paragraph I agree with though I would point out that his poundland purchases havent worked out too bad have they.See,when your not trying to shitstir you make fair observations which will improve when you actually start going to games.

No that isn't the case. When certain posters are constantly negative about anything and everything their opinion grinds on people. We all have a moan from time to time.

I'm sorry but the fact is we have a small squad with a major injury epidemic and we're sitting third. Yes we we're going through a rough patch but what the alternative right now turn on the manager?

I agree with this, Sneggy just about sums it all up. Angelis, you are probably the most negative poster on here and as soon as I see a post from you, before reading, I just know there will be no sunlit words.

I haven't got time to reposte your OB as I'm enjoying my afternoon and having a good time, something which is obviously totally alien to you.

This is not a personal attack on you Angelis, but a general attack on your attitude towards CCFC. I believe in Warnock, and will not jump ship at the first sign of a storm.

Bloooobirds are for life, not just for Christmas, and Warnock is the best thing we've had for a long long time.

I honestly despair sometimes with certain posters on here.

We’ve been decimated with injuries for weeks now and despite a poor Christmas period we still lie in 3rd place.

The mere fact that some have the audacity to say Warnock has lost the dressing room is ridiculous to say the least, every player I’ve seen interviewed have nothing but praise for the man. He’s got us from no hopers to promotion hopefuls in 12 months ffs.

I find it pathetic that the same negative posters love to stick the knife in as soon as Warnock and co have their first sticky patch here.

I really hope he doesn’t read this forum or if he does has worked out the usual posters will never be happy with whoever has the managers job.

Just clear off you negativos, we’re doing fantastic under Warnock. Go spread your poison elsewhere.

Hasn’t got a plan B?

We are high up the table of points in last 15 minutes of games. We have also come from behind to win more under NW more than under any manager I remember. Lately NW hasn’t had a lot of choices on the bench to change things but when he has options he has shown time and again he can.

I cant believe what im reading... some of your comments are just plain rude. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and whether you agree with them or not remember thats a human being who has feelings.

As for the points, I agree with some of them but the most important point being made here is how will Warnock turn our form around? Ive been to most of the home games this season and i see the same thing over and over again....

1) Subs come on too late during games to make any real impact

2) Inability to keep hold of the ball in key areas.

3) Lack of chances created from our midfield.

What Warnock does in the next few weeks will define the rest of our season. I just hope they back him as Warnock deserves a chance for what he has done for the club.

Re: Neil Warnock

Out of interest....

How would you rate Warnocks signings?

Tomlin - Shows he has the talent but needs more game time.

Damour - I like him. Could develope into an good centre midfielder

Etheridge - Has some good games but his kicking game and the occassion lack of communication with the defense needs work.

Bryson - All he does is run run run.

Feeney - Havent seen too much of him but from what i have i dont think he worth a place in our squad. Better options.

Bogle - Could be a good signing with the right guidance.

Ward - Good attitude but lack the quality we need.

Paterson - I like him but whats his best position??

Camp - No opinion yet.

Medez Laing - Great start to the season but since the injury he come back a different player. Low on confidence and maybe lost a step of pace. Hoping to see him return to the player he was at the beginning of the season.

Personally i would say there only a few of them i would consider successful so far but hey there still a lot of games to go to change my mind.

number one..subs...i think you need to rethink this, not only have we scored more late goals after substitutions which changed the outcome of games than i can remember under previous managers ,but the subs themselves have scored quite a few of those goals..
number2 and number 3 are both products of the type of non possession based football we play which to date sees us 3rd in the division.
