Looks like Doidge is coming to City as Forest Green yesterday signed a new centre forward from Exeter as a replacement.

FOREST GREEN boss Mark Cooper has poured cold water on talk of top scorer Christian Doidge making a rumoured £1million switch to Cardiff City.

Media reports suggested the 17-goal Welshmen was on the radar of Neil Warnock's Championship outfit, with the Bluebirds prepared to table a bid, but Cooper insists Doidge is staying put and is set to forge a partnership with Reuben Reid, who joined Rovers from Exeter City this afternoon.

“We’ve brought Reuben in to partner Christian, not to replace him, that’s for certain," Cooper told the club website.

Meanwhile, WalesOnline have reported Doidge is not on the club's radar.

Yes but he stands out as it is almost unheard of. Leicester winning the PL is the same, the sort of story that ends up being made into a film. For every Vardy, there are dozens of others that sink into obscurity. Far more Doyle's than Vardy's.
