LOAN | Liam Feeney extends his stay at CCS for the remainder of the 2017/18 season!
Liam Feeney is due to return to Blackburn Rovers today as his short-term loan spell comes to an end, but it appears increasingly likely that the midfielder will stay with Cardiff until the end of the season.
Blackburn boss Tony Mowbray has been speaking to the media about Feeney and it seems as though an extension to the loan deal will be agreed within the coming few days.

TM on Feeney: "I'm pretty sure over the next day or two something will get resolved with that." An extended stay at Cardiff City the most likely.

A sign we have very little to spend then.
Nw quoted a few weeks ago that there is very little available who is better.well for me Kennedy is and could improve

Whilst I understand the financial limitations imposed on the club, from a purely footballing point of view I will be very disappointed if his loan spell is extended.
Not good enough for,and not wanted by a League 1 team and with the exception of the cross which led to Danny Ward's goal away at Fulham he has had virtually no impact on any game he has played in. I can only remember him having one shot on goal, also against Fulham when he hit the bar with what was a miskick.
Surely we need better than Feeney if we're serious about challenging for a play off place? As said by other posters, surely Kennedy is no worse than Feeney?

Hugely disappointed if this is true...what exactly has he done in 4 months to suggest he can make an impact in the second half of the season????

Kennedy needs game time - Feeney is happy to sit on the bench

Point has been made before, but Kennedy offers so much more. Feeney can put in a few tidy crosses for a striker like Matt Smith, we don't possess!
Buy Bodin I say, and give the other wingers competition.

He's just signed for Preston

I don't really get the point in Feeney, he hasn't added much the first half of the season

I would prefer Cottrell then feeney

Agreed, he tries to beat the defender, realises he doesn't have enough pace and just ends up going backwards every time. At least Cotterill can really whip the ball in with pace.

Cottrell is good at set pieces too

What a waste of wages. We must be able to get better than Feeny.

This thread just shows the narrow minded fans we have really.

Really? Feeney is as average a player seen down the City for many years*. Cottrill is the same standard. Now I read McGoldrick is being linked. This is either garbage gossip or if true a sign of desperation.
*Not as bad as his namesake Warren but not by very much.

Whilst feeney has done ok, he is a lad that causes no trouble good to have around and I get that, but we need strength and depth to push on not players who are simply nice. He struggles to take players on and puts some decent crosses in, he ain’t challenging the main stay wingers.
He has helped us and great thanks for that but surely we can get better

I haven't seen much of Feeney but v Preston he was one of two that knew what they was doing and caused their full back putting in dangerous balls into the box.
He is going to be nothing more than cover when he's here.. I don't see why people are up in arms in this.. he's cheap and affordable cover for the wing which we need because even though Harris is back, he is not fully dependable as he is injury prone. Feeney has not put a foot wrong here and been a decent professional.

Do me a favour, Cotterill better than Feeney? No way..
Think all the criticism of Feeney is harsh, he really hadn't had a run of games with us, so how can some judge ?

Couldn’t agree more with this, the full back couldn’t deal with him and I don’t recall any of his crosses not going into a dangerous area we just never capitalised... on another day he could have had a few assists from those crosses

Preston was one of his best games. Most other times he has looked completely anonymous and offers absolutely no threat.
