Cardiff has got its own bye laws.
E.g. in Cardiff you have to park so many metres off a junction.
That's a bye law. In Cwmbran there is no such law.
So you might well be right about page 9 in the blue badge book.
However I'd say check with the traffic warden as well.
There might well be a bye law in Cardiff allowing blue badge holders to park
In the permit bays,

SORRY SON I WILL NOT f**k OFF, PARK YOUR CAR IN THE RESTRICTED AREAS AND YOUR CAR MAY TURN INTO SCRAP, I'M ONLY TELLING YOU THE LAW, IT'S UP TO YOU IF YOUR WANT TO ABIDE BY IT.

I don't think anyone is arguing with you. They just want confirmation off the traffic warden.
The bye law argument is a fair argument.
I asked the traffic warden as well last season when the Saturday restriction was in force.
He said Blue badge holders can park in the bays.
Can you clear one thing up?
The page 9 you refer to is it in the blue badge book [from Cardiff council]
Or in the documents you had with your permit.

Does that mean you won't be selling your posters any more?

Does this mean no parking at all in Lawrenny Avenue. That's a shed load of cars that will need to find a new place to park.
I can't remember if Fitzalan School was open to parking last season.

I get the feeling I'll get the chance. He sounds as if he'll be on patrol.
Is he a traffic warden.
Sat Aug 07, 2010 10:57 am
They can't tow your car unless they have permission from the owner or let you know before they do it. The best they can do is give you a £35 parking fine (could rise to £60-£70) which will be stuck on your window. My Street is Residential only and has been for around 7-8 years, and even I hate it even though I have a badge on my car. It's a load of shit.

Read my quote
"If I were a blue badge holder I’d check with the traffic warden
I asked last year on a Saturday and they said it was ok."
What’s wrong with that?
I 'm not saying he’s right
I'm not saying he’s wrong.
He’s not the sheriff of Cardiff is he?
I've just sent an email of the Cardiff Council
I understand there are new parking regulations in force around Cardiff City stadium
E.g. Lansdowne Road Cardiff permit holders only
Can blue badge holders park in these bays?
Yours

I wouldn’t worry about it.
The traffic wardens will be out if force tomorrow.
Just ask them.
What’s a tw*t is it a thing a twain runs on?

I guarantee there will be loads all over the messageboards over the next few weeks saying, "I got a ticket didn't know it had changed". Frank has forewarned people who will be very thankfull of the information.
If you want to ignore the information and chance your arm, that's okay as well, but there is no need for the abuse.
I just wonder if the traffic wardens will be out and about. I have family in the area and a few times last year the wardens turned up at around 3:30pm on a Saturday game, sneaky sods.
If you live in Sudcroft Street, on matchdays you are lucky to get out of your drive as some idiots do not know how to park and often park opposite another car so nothing can get through. I hope no one ever needs to call for an ambulance or because of a fire, it'll be carnage.

I once questioned a traffic warden about parking my car and displaying a blue badge in a permit only public road. He responded by saying even though the handbooks tell you your blue badge is not valid, they are wary of booking cars that display blue badges because one day the disabled driver will challenge its legality in the courts.
Secretly they accept that you can't get a more blatant example of disability discrimination. This is because a traffic warden/council would be treating a disabled driver less favourably by penalising them for parking on the same road as an able bodied resident who has been issued with a permit.
I’m not saying that you won’t get booked because of this, but if you did I would certainly challenge the ticket on the grounds of disability discrimination and point out that the handbook rule does-not override the law of the land.

If the book says your blue badge is not valid then it's as simple as that. The law made the law it should stand. If one is allowed to get away with it they had just as well scap it. But I,m sorry as to how it may affect you but we as residents have our rights to.
