“ UPDATED “

Billy Bodin joined Preston.

Bristol Rovers have turned down 3 offers for forward Billy Bodin already. Preston preparing a large bid.

An assumed target for Cardiff, the Bristol Rovers forward Billy Bodin, is in the brink of joining Preston in a £450k deal - plus extras.

I understand Cardiff were never in the bidding - which is a shame because Bodin is decent. He wanted to stay local - and lives in the Swindon area.

Annis,

Didn't they just sign Louis Moult as well?

They're going for it. :thumbright:

I don’t know as I have just landed in Barcelona and have been travelling for 24hrs.

I do know this, those that buy wisely in Jan and are currently in the Top 6, will be still in the Top 6 come May :thumbright: :bluebird:

LOUIS MOULT has vowed to make the most of his crack at the Championship — after enduring the “dark side” of football.

The 25-year-old joined the Lilywhites when the transfer window opened on New Year’s Day having agreed a £450,000 switch from Motherwell.

2 good signings for them if they pull off the Bodin deal :thumbright:

You do love to travel don't you!? :thumbright:

All I know on Bodin is that Alex Neil is really keen and that the Preston Football Director Peter Ridsdale had a straight bid approaching £425k rejected by Rovers last week.

Preston watched the player at Oldham last Saturday and have come back in for him. The player is out of contract this summer and can leave for nothing. Rovers, therefore, want cash for him prior to that happening. Despite rumours, up to last night, Cardiff had not bid for Bodin.

Rovers are looking for cash up front, plus extras on Wales caps, club appearances and goals.

I'd be impressed if Cardiff City did the sensible thing and put a decent bid in for Bodin this week :thumbright:

Although I'm sure things are 'in hans' in relation to new signings at the CCS :ayatollah:

Seen someone ( think it was Annis ) Post about Chris Doidge - Think he could be a real find if true - check his GS record.

Its welsh league / lower leagues but with confidence and the players around him he could be the next Vardy :thumbright:

Can we risk a punt on him (Doidge) though? this window is crucial for us the way we are currently performing and need a goalscorer.

I think they are really struggling so a couple of hundred k should do it I'd imagine. Blokes 25 but looks sharp.

Forest Green Rovers are certainly struggling on the pitch , but have huge financial backing from the owner Dale Vince , so are not short of cash. As recently as yesterday , they were talking of signing another 4 players to add to the two they have already signed in this transfer window in order to improve their squad and move up the table. I think it unlikely that they would wish to sell their top scorer if they don`t need the cash and are looking to stay in League 2

Wasn't aware of the financial situation so I thought it would be an easy/cheap buy.
