He be gone by the weekend

He took a hammering from both Chelsea and the Press on the weekend and the club's League position must surely put his position in jeopardy? :?

Personally, I'm not sure Mark Hughes has ever really lived up to his reputation since leaving the Wales job but Stoke City is a tough gig for any manager...and they do like their Welshmen! ;) :thumbright:

Not any more mate!
They want Hughes out and the fans were going ballistic when there was talk of Pullis going back there recently.
Dead man walking I think.

sparky is a very capable manager. apart from one shocking spell at QPR, he has pretty much brought relative success wherever he has been.

if stoke are considering his future, they might as well sack him now. it's not in anyone's interest to have a dead man walking. they should, however, be careful what they wish for. look at southampton and a string of clubs who sacked someone who brought solid mid table finishes because they thought they are better than they are.

If he goes - Joe Allan will be gone .

Stoke must realize they'll never win anything with Mark Hughes. Time for a change I think and he's probably destined for the Championship, if he's lucky!

He went to Stoke for Mark Hughes in the beginning and knows he is wanted elsewhere. West Ham are exceptionally keen to sign him and (even as an ex-Jack) I don't name them. Decent player! :thumbright:

still dont get the Mark Hughes connection.

Allen knew Hughes through his Wales connections (although he never played for him) and after Euro 2016 he decided he needed a new challenge after being used pretty much as a 'holding' midfielder by Liverpool. Hughes/Stoke approached him, offered him regular first team football and convinced him that Stoke were an ambitious team who would be improved by his signing

Allen was impressed by Hughes and his vision and also the calibre of players around him (Shaqiri, Arnautovic, Bojan, Afellay and Imbula, Bony, Whelan, Walters) and Crouch. Despite being highly rated by Liverpool and their fans, he decided to join Stoke in search of regular football and Mark Hughes himself was the main influencing factor.

Given Stoke's demise this season, I think it is understandable that Allen (a decent player by any standard) would seek to move on swiftly to further his ambition

No, just 'connections' and Hughes 'talking the talk' and I agree that allen is probably looking for an out, as he is too good for a team in the lower reaches of the Premier League :thumbright:
