Cardiff remain fourth despite now having lost four successiv

Mon Jan 01, 2018 5:17 pm

Cardiff remain fourth despite now having lost four successive Championship games - the worst run for manager Neil Warnock for nine years as he returned to his former club.

Rangers climb a place to 17th with their second win in 11 games and are now six points clear of the bottom three.

All I can think of is how we have thrown a great chance of running away with this league with Wolves. That is what is really bugging me.

This seems a bit more than just a blip.

This month is where Warnock will earn his money. Our squad is too small and he needs to address it quickly.

How we can get in a situation where we only have one fit midfielder after loaning out three and releasing two is shocking.

He had decent money to spend in the summer and he spent half of it on a player who is still unable to play 45 minutes a week after 6 months.

He needs a goalkeeper, 3 midfielders and a goalscorer.

Good luck neil you going to need it or your job may start to come into quesrion if this carries on much longer as our board are not exactly known for sticking with managers over the last few years no matter how well they have done.

Agree . We could and should be 9/10 points clear of 3rd now.
We were 6 clear before this run and have played 3 poor teams.
Whilst everybody else has also stumbled

Don't think can expect city to win last 4 games we are not strong enough for that but in reality we are doing well as far as season is concerned, and hopefully in the 2wk break we have players return after injury and 2 or 3 new players in it will kick start us again . Playing lesser teams recently maybe raised expectations that we could win them all unfortunately life isn't that simple? And not sure we are as good a team as our position suggests

I was surprised that we won quite a few games despite being starved of possession, and I have come away from more than one game wondering how the hell we won that. I think a lot was down to our defence being so solid, that even if we were outplayed there was always a chance we could sneak a result. It was never going to be easy to keep picking up wins like that, and once we started leaking goals this was always the likely outcome.

I guess injuries have not helped much, but hopefully we can put things right this month and start picking up points again. Still right up there, and a couple of confidence boosting wins can get our season back on track.
