Cameron Jerome Available For Cut Price £1.5m Deal

Derby County, Birmingham and Sunderland have all reportedly joined Cardiff City in the race to sign Norwich City forward Cameron Jerome.

The experienced striker has returned to full fitness after a recent back injury, but it looks like he could be sold at a cut-price £1.5million in the January transfer window to help ease the Canaries high wage bill, according to today's SunSport column.

Bluebirds manager Neil Warnock is keen to take the 31-year-old forward back to South Wales during the transfer window to help boost their promotion push after three straight Championship defeats.

Rams boss Gary Rowett has similar ideas and is looking for a proven hitman at Championship level to enhance their promotion ambitions.

Birmingham and Sunderland are in need of goals to shoot themselves out the relegation dogfight.

Under pressure Blues boss Steve Cotterill has already made enquiries about the forward who spent five years St Andrews as he looks to bolster his squad who are rock bottom of the Championship.

Despite just two goals for the Canaries this term, Jerome will be seen as an important addition to any Championship outfits plans for the second half of the campaign.

Despite the Norfolk side looking to cut the wage bill, boss Daniel Farke is keen to keep the forward at Carrow Road.

Jerome joined Norwich in 2014 for £4m and has another 18 months left on his current deal with the club having an option for a further 12 months in the summer of 2019.

I do hope we don't pay a substantial fee if we get him.

Too hit-and -miss for me...and if he's that good, why are Norwich prepared to let him go?

Feel we could get our fingers burned, if we take the gamble on Jerome boosting our season from what is already a strong position that only needs tweaking

Definitely some mileage in this story

Typical Warnock striker, big , powerful and experienced at this level

He is able to play up front on his own and lead the line

And Don't forget we are going to need a straight replacement for Zahore if we don't get promoted this season

I'd be disappointed if we paid anything over 1m for him. He's 31 and his finishing isn't as good as many on here think.

Go get him. He is quick, can lead the line, can head the ball and scores goals which is what we are lacking at the moment.
