4th going into the new yr!!...

If you said this to me at start of the season I would of taken it big time. We're all gutted by the last few games but this league anyone can beat anyone. Injuries have cost us tbh the players looked really tired last night. We were ok once a week but the fixtures around xmas are intense and it's shown.

NW knows how to deal with this league and thank god the window opens to at least get some cover in. Tan needs to start investing with this manager and give him some serious funds. Ship the dead wood out ie Halford especially Damour has only just come into this physical league but I haven't seen anything special in him.

Let's all start turning up and boost the boys they play well when us fans turn up look at the Leeds game. Probably our best attendance and the score showed it :ayatollah:

All considered its amazing. This Injury epidemic has been crippling but like you say thank God it's jan soon. We need a couple of big loan signings even if they come with a fee!

Well happy with our position.

Looking like everyone is playing for second place. Our problem could be money. Some of our rivals will splash out soon. It has been made clear enough to us from Tan and Warnock that our funds are very limited. We will do well keep up with teams like Derby over the next couple of months.

How do the likes of Derby get away with spending millions

The only thing I have to disagree with you on is Damour. I think considering he’s come from the French 2nd division he’s done ok. Certainly no worse than Bryson.

Would have been happy with that at the start of the season, definitely wouldn't have 2 weeks ago though.

At the atart of the season I would of bitten someone's hand off for a start like this.

The fact we have lost 3 games on the bounce in the championship and are still 5 points clear of 5th place is amazing.

We are well and truly still in the hunt for automatics and well on the way to the play offs. A few additions in January to freshen up the squad and I think we will have enough to remain in a play off spot come May

At the start of the season I would have been delighted with being fourth at this stage.

However, after winning our first five games of the season including outplaying the self proclaimed Barcelona of the Championship on their own ground, it is extremely disappointing to find ourselves 11 points behind Wolves at this stage.

Not only that but the style of play has diminished from quick, incisive attacking play where we had the most shots on target of any team, through a number of games where we have battled to wins and comeback draws through sheer will to the current abysmal performances we have seen over the last three games where we have resorted to lumping the ball aimlessly forwards and culminating in a game against bottom 3 Bolton where we did not have one shot on target in the whole game.

Of course injuries have taken their toll but our worst performances have coincided with the return of some of our injured players!

It's currently light years away from how we were playing at the start of the season and now that we seem to have lost the knack of grinding out results when playing poorly it's starting to be a bit of a concern.

If you feel a bit glum about our temporary drop in form, just cast your mind back to the point just before NW took over. Now that was something to feel glum about!

He's performed miracles, reducing the wage bill, bringing in quality players and with a net spend of £1.5M. And hats off to VT and co for appointing him and also stabilising the club financially, I can't put more emphasis on the latter. We are in a pretty good place overall at the moment.

And to top it all, NW has helped bring our club back and as part of that process, we've achieved a top six finish at Christmas which was a big ask.

I've (probably like most of us) have played down auto and even top six expectation as its a long season and literally anything can happen - its Cardiff City.

We've been very unlucky with a lot of injuries including key players and its showing. If your serious about having a go, and we are, you usually have to bring in a few players in January to freshen options after a gruelling half season.

As folks have said, we've seen this squad play some excellent football so we know what their capable of and I believe we will soon see that again.

How many would have taken this position before a ball was kicked this season ??
