My View/Opinion

" A DIRE GAME & MANY PLAYERS NOT CREATING & CITY JUST NOT AT THE RACES "

Cardiff City's 3rd defeat in a row and just did not seem once again to turn up and many players looking tired.

Bolton,Fulham & Now Preston and we've conceded 7 goals/scoring just 2.

First-half: Once again it was a very slow start from Cardiff and Preston getting stuck in and at times getting to rough, with the Ref having to use his yellow card a few times.

It looked like a relegation battle.

A first half that has been desperately low on quality.

Second-half: A slight improvement from City, but Tomlin and Zohore never lasted the 90mins.

Subs:
Murphy, Halford, Connolly, Pilkington, Hoilett, Healey, Bogle

Cardiff once again a slow start and not at the races.

Preston were getting stuck in and at some stages getting to rough with City's player, resulting in a few bookings against Preston's players.

City Striker Lee Tomlin taking a lot of pulls, rough tackles from the Preston players.

A first half that has been desperately low on quality.

It looked like a relegation battle.

My man of the match so far was Sol Bamba :thumbright:

H/T CARDIFF CITY 0 PRESTON 0 :bluebird:

With in minutes of the second half, another Preston player was booked for fouling Lee Tomlin.

The first shot on target by City was the 52nd min by Lee Tomlin.

The atmosphere was awful as well and Tomlin was waving his arms to try and get the crowd going :ayatollah:

Junior Hoilett repalced Rhys Healey.

76th mins Rhys Healey came on for Lee Tomlin.

Omar Bogle came on for Zohore.

90th min Preston scored as City failed to clear the ball and Preston had put City under pressure.

Amsterdam trip has killed them!!

Loss at QPR coming up?

Injuries don't help but they looked knackered-no excuse all the other teams have same amount games during Xmas period.

Only hope is Derby lose and Wolves wallop Brizzle and we go back up to second, here's hoping.

Better team won tonight. We were really poor.

You have to say Preston was just as bad tonight, too many games and injuries in a short space of time.

We will bounce back, some fresh faces in January and some players returning from injury, 100% fit Zohore....you watch..!

No flair , no pace just hoofball.

Warnock's smash and grab no longer working , sides have us sussed.

Need flair players in or we will struggle

Wasn’t a great game and I actually thought we looked the more likely to score but I just knew we would conced from such a cheaply given away corner. Felt we lacked a bit of urgency at times. New faces to come in and freshen up the squad a little.

Foul on Peltier as the corner comes in should gave been given for what it’s worth.

Will be interesting to hear what Neil Warnock makes of it all.

We are crying out for a good midfielder. Hoofball isn't necessarily a problem but you need to pick up the second balls, which we didn't all game. This means that the whole game is just played in the air and the front 3 become isolated.

The midfield were useless in the first 70 minutes and none of the front 3 were in the game at all. Damour isn't up to standard I've now come to the conclusion of. He can't pass the ball and although he works hard, he isn't consistent enough at picking up second balls.

All teams have a bad run, ours is well and truly arrived, if I would trust any manager to kick start it with a couple of additions in January, it's Warnock. Really disappointed in Tomlim and Patterson though, been bang average

Very very very bad game to be at. I just couldnt believe how appauling we were and I got a parking ticket to tick off a shit night. Deserved nothing amd got nothing. The boys are knackered but you should be able to play basic football correctly.

Completely agree. we need creativity in the Midfield and someone who can actually cross a ball. What has happened to NML he looks a shadow of the player that was tearing full backs apart.

And unless the football improves I’m afraid that figure will drop further.

Well we can't get him the ball because the midfield just hoofs it every time! When he started getting on the ball in the last 20 minutes he looked good.

I thought Lee Tomlin was fouled all over the pitch tonight, but I still don't think he's fully fit even after 5 months.

Very talented footballer. Such a shame he can't walk past a chip shop without going in for a beefburger in batter.

Agree he’s still not match fit but I would have kept him on as he seemed to cause a few problems for them.
Same with Feeney he was the only player to to put a decent cross in.
This hoof ball must be Warnocks tactics, surely he can see how bad it is.

Ned, I'm not sure Preston were the 'better' side but the one thing they had was a midfield who got there first to almost every ball (at least that's how it appeared!

Massive holes in midfield again, which led to poorly actioned 'Route One' football and left Preston to sweep up almost every city ball that was pumped forward before they hit us with the sucker punch!

i'm not too downhearted, as we've still had a fantastic season to date and we were bound to hit a rough patch at some point. But what we have to do now is regroup, put in a performance against Holloway's Hoops and (a) get some fresh blood in, and (b) get the injured players back in a position where they can be used when/if required.

Mendez-Laing seems out of sorts over the Christmas period and didn't seem to really 'want it' when it came to taking on the opposition directly. If he can start doing that again. City's form will improve, I am sure :thumbright: :ayatollah:

All this hoof and chase is nonsense why are we doing it we did'nt do this at the start of the season we're beginning to look clueless and predictable.

The team was set up to draw tonight imo, the game plan was to get the point stop the rot and maybe breed abit of confidence - it back fired woefully.

Even Preston turned up for the point, the game plan was to bypass our woefully under weighted midfield for our wings, yet everything spent more time in the air than on the ground. The ref didn’t help, and even though he actually blew up he seemed to blow up for EVERYTHING he just didn’t let the game flow at all.

For me two players who need to be hauled off and given the opportunity to work back into form are Zohore and Mendes Laing - they are so out of form, Zohore was lazy and sluggish tonight he hardly seemed up for the fight - Mendes Laing showed why it failed at Wolves, bad decisions everytime he had the ball. Although there was nothing fancy from Feeney he was the better of the starting wingers.

Tomlin got kicked all night and had little to no service due to the wing play - you could see Warnock had told everyone to slow it down from the delays Etheridge, normally quick with his distribution, was making to restart play.

Why oh why does Bogle get left on the bench he’s tenacious hungry and is exactly what we like in a forward, even Healy’s movement was miles on top of Zohore!!

Needs a drastic change ASAP

That includes 14,500 season ticket holders.

But surely the crowds are the same for every club regarding Holidays, at Xmas you get your biggest crowds.

Watch tomorrow clubs crowds.
