The club would have all his details including phone number and address. Now they prob wouldn't be able to give this out but would be able to contact him?

It's simple person rings office tells them got wallet gives fan no, office then contact wallet owner with contact details of finder who arranges pick up! no data breach it's standard practice in cases like this.
