END OF THE WORLD

Lose one game and it's like our season is over with some fans. We get up dust ourselves off and go again boxing day. Cheer up!!

Half the season gone and just four defeats. Way better than my expectations, and I think what we have achieved so far is brilliant. Be hard to keep this up over the next 23 games unless we have a bit more luck with injuries, but a play off place looks realistic enough at the minute.

Agree and maybe it's now time for the fans to show they are as committed as the manager and players have been so far this season!

What better time to show OUR support than Boxing Day after a rare defeat? :ayatollah:

And remember, City have usually followed up a poor result with a very positive one to date this season! :thumbright:

There’s positives to come out of it for me, Warnock can use it to take to the board, ensure we get the people in he wants.

Not to have a shot on target against one of the worst defences in the league is really poor.

Still second and with back to back home matches to come though. It’s been a fantastic first half of the season overall

Re: END OF THE WORLD

That's the beauty of the championship any one can beat any one, just a bad day at the office, bring on Fulham

Re: END OF THE WORLD

Sun Dec 24, 2017 1:41 pm

We have punched above our weight so far this season, I don't see that we can't keep doing so, no one believed that we would be in this position at the halfway point. Funds have been promised for the January window to strengthen the squad, we will have quality players coming back from injury for the back half of the season and I don't think this squad are about to throw the towel in anytime soon, so, don't worry, about a thing, 'cause every little thing's gonna be alright! Merry Xmas fellow Bluebird s.

Re: END OF THE WORLD

If we lose only 4 more games in the next 23 then I’ll take that right now.

Re: END OF THE WORLD

Sun Dec 24, 2017 2:26 pm

First of all you have to give Warnock a lot of credit for saving us from possible relegation last season and putting us in a very strong position for giving us the possibility of at the very least of getting into the playoffs but like all managers he sometimes gets things wrong,I know we have had to endure a very long period of injuries but some of Warnocks team selections and tactics have been a bit bizarre to say the least, what we need now is for most of our injured players to come back and for Warnock to bring in some extra quality to our squad in January

Re: END OF THE WORLD

Sun Dec 24, 2017 4:06 pm

That’s this forum for you! ... either world beaters or absolute crap to some on here.

The trick now is to bounce back and start winning again and not get sucked into a rut which I’ve seen many times before. If that happens we could sink like a stone and will be very difficult to get that momentum back.
Here’s to a big crowd on Boxing Day to get behind the team!

Were you... Trying to be.... Positive!???? You almost had it for a second.

I agree though warnocks selections have been SO bizarre that we're second in the midst of an injury crisis and a shoestring budget.

Put your name forward to the club see if you can have your say in the team sheet x

Amazing manager Dave Jones.

Bought cheap sold expensive. His signings kept this club going for a long time.

If he had the budget Malky had he would have won the Championship with 100 points and 100 goals and built a side Premiership ready.

Since the departure of Bothroyd and Chopra we have never been able to replace them with such likes.

yes i know. and know how difficult it was to find such rough diamonds for relatively small money and get performances out of them,{ their best days were here }.
btw bottling something is not getting a side to its best finish in 40 years..and only losing one of your last 10 league games..
if Burnley dont finish top 4 has Dyche bottled it..? or has it been a good season for them.?

as someone that was a ST holder in 97/98 and went to our final game that season with about 80 others to see us lose and finish 21st in the bottom division...i find this DJ knocking a bit crazy..from losing 3.0 to mansfield in the 4th tier to an FA cup final jeez.
im grateful to DJ.lennie..cork..sam and whoever else took us step by step to being the club i always thought we could be.

Re: END OF THE WORLD

Yes well did we pay the likes of Cork the same amount as we did for DJ?

      .Cork didnt get us to an FA cup final...our highest lge position for 40 years 3 years on bounce..or recruit players we then sold for 27 mill..or increase ST sales 6 fold during his tenure.. :laughing5: :laughing5: :laughing5:
as i said anyone at Mansfield that day in 98 or a ST holder then would have to pinch themselves that just 10 years later we would be at Wembley without the words paint or glass on the trophy...allthough there are loads that claim to have been .

He got individual players and improved them. Unfortunately he had to sell our best player every year. If he had kept his best players or had the budget of Malky we wouldn’t have bottled anything. He would have smashed the league.

I've got so much faith in NW that I observe that if we are 1-0 down, 80% of the time we will come back stronger , as opposed to dropped shoulders etc. In the same vain, I see a game lost which perhaps we should have got something out of the same. We and other teams that are currently enjoying top six are no different, especially when playing clubs that have realised they are fighting for their Championship status. There will be for sure a few other banana skins plus other challenges facing us but I think NW and staff have planned and played these variables before so whilst disappointed I'm not too bothered by a transient result.

Wasn't going to get involved tonight as it is so close to chrimbo, but nubbsy, you,ve ley yourself down. a perfectly good POSITIVE post and you knock him down, very poor.

A very positive post, and he,along with 1000 others yesterday, saw quite clearly, that playing defensively with Halford, against quite possibly the worse team we will encounter this season, instead of playing Tomlin for an hour to unlock their defence which would,nt have been difficult with Tomlin's skill, would have won us the game.
then bring on halford to bolster the defence and shut the game off.

If that is not positive, then i don't know what is. And if you were to have a quick beer with the gaffe on his own, on hindsight, i bet he would agree.

Any way, all food for thought and we all have different ideas, have a great Crimbo and we will get at each others throats again on boxing day. :occasion5: :bluebird:
