NEIL WARNOCK MAKES BIG DECISION & ANNOUNCES HIS FUTURE

Cardiff City boss Neil Warnock has made a huge decision regarding his future

NEIL WARNOCK:

"I’ll definitely be working next year," said the Cardiff boss.

"I've made up my mind that I’d like another season.

Neil Warnock has confirmed that he wants to remain in management beyond the 2017-18 campaign.

But the veteran boss admits that he is in no rush to put pen to paper on a new deal with Cardiff City, despite the fact his current contract with the club expires in the summer.

The Yorkshireman signed a one-year contract extension with the Bluebirds in February this year, although he has previously hinted that if the Bluebirds were to gain promotion into the promised land of the Premier League this term, that would not necessarily persuade him to stay .

But speaking ahead of his side's clash with Championship strugglers Bolton at the Macron Stadium on Saturday afternoon, Warnock revealed that he would happy stay in South Wales for another year if the terms were right.

"I’ll definitely be working next year," said the Cardiff boss.

"I've made up my mind that I’d like another season.

"I’m sure I’ll be speaking to Mehmet (Dalman) over the next few days and weeks regarding that. But I’m not in a rush. I wouldn't dream of leaving Mehmet and the club midway through the season.

"If the climate was right I would consider signing another year. But I will be working next year providing my health is okay.

"The problem when you are out of contract in the summer is that if you want to sign a player they usually want to know if the manager is going to be there.

"So if I’m only going to be there a few months it could be difficult trying to sign him.

"Most managers - younger managers especially - would want to sign a longer contract. But I’ll be there this season and we are talking.

"Mehmet’s coming over for an extended stay and he’s always speaking to Vincent (Tan) and Ken (Choo). It’s so busy at the moment and it’s probably not a priority, but we’ll probably have a chat in the New Year."

Warnock is gunning for a record eighth promotion of his career with the Bluebirds.

And in the aftermath of Cardiff's 1-0 win over Hull City last weekend, chairman Dalman revealed the club are keen for Warnock to extend his stay beyond the current campaign.

"If Neil wants to stay, we will be happy, if he wants to go, we are here to talk him out of it," said Dalman.

"Where is Neil going to go?

"Talks on a new contract are none of (the media's) business, but of course we want him to stay.

"We are enjoying our football; this season has been quite spectacular.

"We've just enjoyed, as it happens, doing better than we planned.

"We came into the season ambitious, the manager had a plan and he's made some good calls.

"We aren't thinking about promotion, we are realistic, there is a long way to go, when Neil gets excited, I will get excited."

This maybe a bit controversial but if we got promoted I would let Warnock go, I don’t think his management style is suited to the prima donna’s who play in the premiership. He is a fantastic manager at championship level arguably the best manager at this level. So if we didn’t go up this year I would definitely give him an extra year.

I think terms would be he gets left alone to sign who he wants and that he doesn't have to put up with all the other bull shit the premier league brings.
I think if the deal is right he could be a good manager at that level .
Is he up for a different challenge at his age only he knows that.
We'll see i hope he stays weather we stay up or stay down been very enjoyable since hes been here .
Players play for him and the shirt give there all and as a fan i love that can't ask for anymore.

And that's all we City fans ask for isn't it.

He’s stated this himself a few times. Hates the Premier League. Respect his decision if he makes it and put him into City’s hall of fame.

Would be absolutely behind him if we got to the prem who would we get down here better than Warnock, make huge mistakes in appointments like we did last time,if he kept us there it would be an achievement of which I'm sure he would,we don't need to have prima donna's here Leicester proved that.

If he could survive in the pram with hard workers for a season ide very happy.
Signing players on a budget would be excellent
