Does anyone else dread it? Do t get me wrong I used to love it years ago but as I've got older now I feel like it's a real old faff.
Quite often I work it and I have to say - I'd prefer to be in work. It gets so boring and there's always a pressure to drive around the place visiting everyone and being nice for one day when really I'd rather be left alone at home to relax and do what I want to do and eat what I want to eat and Put my feet up for the day!

which in all honesty is probably what most people want to do! Lol
Ok so the lights brighten the place up abit but after aa while driving around the place - it starts to all look abit tatty and untidy!

Nah,as I've got older I've never enjoyed it more. It's a riotous day with all the grandkids etc.Cooking for a dozen leaves me rather buggered on boxing day though.

There's plenty of people who'd love to spend Christmas with a family, get a life you selfish tw*t, most probably tells your grand kids to be quiet while you listen to the Queens speech

Call me selfish but I don't spend xmas with my family - wish I did but they live miles away. Haven't had Xmas with my parents for 11 years but wish I could but circumstances are difficult. Don't have grandkids or anything. If I wasn't working my Xmas day would be driving quite a way to my partners family and standing out in the cold whilst she sees them - can't take the doggy in the house as they don't like them etc. I usually just wait in the car etc at each stop - not my idea of fun really!

Let me tell you there are plenty of homeless people in the world who would love to have your life. They’d love to have a family, work all year round and then have this one day where they can relax with close ones. But they can’t. Their 365 day’s consist of sitting in freezing cold shop doorways.
Christmas is over-commercialised but it’s a day for family, and should be celebrated.

Yes and there's plenty of people who dread xmas for it brings back heartbreak! Are they selfish for hating Xmas? When calling someone a selfish t××× remember there are two sides to Xmas not all happy joyous as yours might be.

Well said, Ned
I'm sure the '
pressure' that Once a Blue Always a Blue finds himself under to visit family and being nice (not an easy task in his case) for one day of the year is immense and walking around with the forced smile of a synchronised swimmer must take its toll!

If I remember rightly and I'm sorry if I'm wrong but didn't u say the same about Halloween and bonfire night. Fireworks are a pain in the arse for dogs I agree. But back to Christmas I'm sure everyone will be looking forward to your visit

My kids and grandchildren are well educated and will never ever watch a foreign old woman making a speech as she sits on her piles generated from her lazy funded lifestyle.

Agree that there are people out there in particular the homeless and elderly people who maybe on there own this Xmas and without any basics let alone luxuries. Its horrible to think how many people live outside permenantly. My parents often cook for the Homeless on Xmas day in their church. I tend to prefer to work Xmas day as my job involves helping others as opposed to driving around and in all honesty - I think people have forgotten what Xmas is really all about. I'm sure you lot have moaned about something in your lifetime!

but no in all seriousness I'll always be grateful for the things I have - I guess I just wish I could spend Xmas at Home with a nice Xmas dinner and spending time with ALL of my family - that's all I wish for - no presents!
Yes it was me about who posted about bonfire night (not Halloween I love Halloween) but that's a separate issue because it frightenS my dog and hundreds of other animals just because people want to hear BANG!
Just for the record I love Easter, Spring, Summer (apart from flying anywhere lol) and football season!
