I rem filling three coaches for the LDVAN trophy(mickey mouse) or what ever its called for a Tuesday night away game at Millwall and one of them was from the Rhondda Valley.:thumb right:
The coaches were packed, I could of taken another one if I had tried, but three was enough work to organise

Yes it was Stephen, about 150 good lads, many older as well. We tried to walk the Old Kent Road on a Tuesday night to surprise them. Long story.
When we got near Millwalls ground, Millwall were stunned by our numbers. Police could not control both sets.
To be fair Millwall came straight out in the road calling us on.
Police got between, but then for 5 mins it was all quite, till we got near a pub on the corner, 2 Cardiff lads were quitley in there from Ebbw Vale and ran out smacking Millwall from behind, some of the Valley lads with us picked up the crash barriers and hurled them at Millwall. It just went of and police were just battering both sides.
There was about 350 Cardiff up there on a Tuesday night, mickey mouse cuo including 200 lads in the ground. Some had gone by train as well.
In the ground for a 2,000 crowd, the atmosphere was volatile for 90 mins.

We got the tube from central London to millwall for that game. We got walked to the ground by one of their old heads who was banned at the time. Told us 200 City had been drinking in their main pub all afternoon. Never been more scared in my life.
Great atmosphere for such a small crowd.

Neil, Yes we drank all day in the Elephant and Castle on the edge of the Old Kent Road.
Made our own way to the ground, no escort.
Brilliant atmosphere in the ground![]()
Streets around were quite intimidating.

We were late due to traffic. I think that may have stopped us getting battered. After the game was terrifying. They were mad.

No doubt about that. A lot of them still go from up here, but sadly it's not quite the same.

I also recall a NP game versus them also on SKY when Tony Warner was in goals for them and we lost 1-3. Willie Boland let a corner in over his head.

No, he was on the goal post but the corner floated over him - it only had to go 6 foot as he was too short to head it away!
I suspect Alexander was in goals.
