" Get Craig Bryson fit "

By Dominic Booth

Whether either Bryson or Danny Ward would be regular starters when everybody is fit is a moot point, but Warnock doesn't have that luxury right now. Both men, signed in the summer, have been vital additions to the squad, filling in for Gunnarsson and Zohore respectively. Omar Bogle has done a great job in the striker's role too.

Loic Damour and Joe Ralls have formed an effective two-man midfield of late but the Frenchman in particular is susceptible to fatigue. Ralls cannot carry the burden on his own, so the return of Bryson becomes a necessity for Warnock.

The Scot's energy in midfield against Nottingham Forest was remarkable and on the ball he doesn't get the plaudits he deserves. Either way, Bryson's Championship experience will be needed over Christmas, with Warnock hopeful he can shake off an Achilles problem in time for the Bolton clash this Saturday.

In the continued absence of Zohore up front, the onus will be on Bogle. Ward has had a knee operation and Anthony Pilkington looked short of match fitness in his 68-minute showing versus Hull.
