Its about time we all really start believing that WE ARE IN A PROMOTION SEASON I know the watchword is we cant get ahead of our selves and there is a long way to go.


We have all been afraid to believe that City can do it

Before the start of the season - we will be lucky to make the play-offs mid-table was generally the idea.
After the first five games - its a flash in the pan
after 10 games - we are bound to slip back
after 15 games - same again we were told that we would slip off the pace.
NOW after 22 games we are bouncing along with 47 points which if the 2nd half of the season is a copy of the 1st then we are due to collect 98 points which is 20 more that our championship winning season

From this point forward in our promotion season we took 23 out of 27 points. We take the same out of the next 9 games we'll be home and hosed. It was after that we stuttered but by then the points were on the board.

Difficult next 4 games with the way we play and a threadbare squad. 4 games in 9 days of high energy football calls for a good bit of rotation that we may struggle with given the injury situation.

I thought the OP said 78. My mistake it was 87 we finished on. We also only took 17 points from possible 39 in our last 13 games. That's why I said we would need to fall apart drastically as we are ahead of our promotion year at the moment

The Blues are going up......it is as simple as that.

I've been waiting for us to blow up for the last 2 months, with injury after injury, the chance of complacency and maybe just sheer bad officialdom........but guess what, we are still here.

I seem to recall there were not many teams coming up the rails that season.

Thinks time some eg Derby and Villa in particular have the resources plus several of the top 10 have the ability to go on 4-5 matches winning runs eg Bristol and Derby at present.

There is a long way to go. A lot can go wrong.

We just need to reduce our injury list and I reckon we’d have a hope. We need zohore back and banging them in, we need Morrison, Harris flying down the wing would be nice to see. Plenty of pace, let’s hope they can take us the distance. I don’t think anyone imag8ned this in there wildest dreams....

I agree that it’s a good way of looking at it but in the 2013/14 season Leicester finished on 102 points, and Burnley on 93 with Leicester finishing 6th on 72, so looking at past seasons doesn’t really stand for much imo.

your right its hard to call how many points we need.
brighton a couple of years ago 89 points and 3rd...id be spewing...but one year in the 90s Sunderland were 3rd with 90 and Charlton 4th with 88.
