Egger have always been worse. Police and Media seem to ignore it though for some reason.
I spoke with someone whilst I was in hospital and they told me that on international egg weekends its the busiest time for violence related treatments :banghead:

Mate, the only problems football fans cause is hammering each other which very rarely happens these days.

Rugby fans need the restrictions we have following Cardiff.

Picking on innocent people at train stations.
Picking on innocent people on trains.
Beating up innocent people outside various grounds.
Terrorising people at motorway services.
Too much vandalism than I can remember.
Terrorising people in various cities.

That’s just our fans at various points in time watching the city. (Mostly away)

Rugby fans are dickheads after a load of beers and drinking all day but let’s not make out that football fans only hammer each other. As our crowds increase the trouble also increases. There’s just more people watching the rugby than watch us as has been done to death elsewhere.

Believe it or not Neil, for 35 years the Rugby fans in Cardiff on Wales games have been doing a lot of the above as I have seen first hand in my years of working in the City Centre and are still doing it, where football fans are not.

The difference is, its kept out of media because Councillors, Authorities, Solicitors have always liked the egg and not wanted them to lose their drinking in the grounds/streets/trains etc.

But British Transport Police in the last 10 years have had triple the amount of police on their trains for Rugby a fact.

I have only ever been one in the Arms Park and one in the Millennium (Freebies  ), left half-time :thumbright: I saw them throwing beer over England Rugby Fans heads, abusing them and fights and they were told just calm down.
If it was football, riot police come in and bang you got your riot.

I dont even relate it to football or rugby fans really just dickheads who cannot handle their beverage but sadly I think rugby has become like that.

I have watched football all over Europe and rugby all round the World and unfortunately some Welsh rugby fans, especially at home games, are by far the worst.

Like everyone else, when they get too much beer on board the stupidity and violence begins amongst the rugby fans, the same as it does with the regular drunken punters on any Saturday night in any big town or city.

Football fans have a history of going out to be deliberately intimidating when stone cold sober, (but possibly with some whizz up their noses. ) The only reason there is less bother at football is that fans are more closely monitored at football.

Don’t delude yourselves that football fans are better behaved.

I remember coming into Cardiff one evening after the rugby and a fairly ordinary looking fan was looking a bit worse for ware but enjoying his sides win, when a juggernaut of a bloke hurtled towards him from the opposite end of the carriage and slammed him into the carriage floor- literally this ordinary looking guy went from a standin position with his hands above his head and bounced completely as he was stood off the floor and back up- absolutely no need for the juggernaut to do it and everyone was totally perplexed as this guy screamed and tried to get to the ordinary guy!

Crazy!

Agree, anybody old enough will know even though they may not like to admit it that the measures dealt to football fans have been well earned. Also,to my knowledge rugby fans do not organise violence which is something that was illustrated on this very forum as recently as Aston Villa.
I don't condone what seems to be happening in rugby and it should be addressed but we should sort out our own problems first.

I'd like somebody link me any CCTV of say a mob of 30-40 rugby fans mob up and actively seek out opposing fans. Once found run at the pub smashing in windows, attacking the opposing fans etc

Come on I'm not for one minute saying rugby fans are saints but there are clear distinctions between why one is viewed worse than the other.

That's very true what you say but difference is if footy fans behaved on match day like rugby fans do they will have banning orders from games home and away? and probably exclusion order from city centre ! It's all about equality and fairness.

Last weekend I did a return train from Newport to Cardiff. On both trains were ccfc, Brentford and egg fans. I had a great chat with a couple of bees fans. Both trains were full. The football fans that I saw were all impeccably behaved. On the way home there was a small argument with shouting and swearing between a group of egg fans because one lot had thrown food at another group. Absolutely pathetic behaviour.

Your right Rugby fans did not go around in mobs like football lads looking for each other. But what they do, you could say is worse, they get pissed up, wreck things, abuse the normal public, piss every where, throw their drinks/food etc but the police usually do nothing, but if the police went in to them like they do to a football fan for say sticking his finger up,then they would have running battles.

If in todays world the Police treated us both the same, I promise you their would be hundreds of Rugby fans arrested.

Gareth, correct and if football fans threw food/drinks etc its called a riot as the police steam straight in causing one.

Im merely pointing out why. For years every weekend mobs of marauding football fans would smash up city centres and that's why we are treated differently.

You only look at the clip of Chelsea Cardiff only in 2010 on YouTube. Have you ever seen scenes like that from rugby?

I agree it is pathetic nowadays how you can get a 5 year banning order for sneezing in the wrong direction as a footy fan but I also accept that A. It's kind of self imposed and B. If we weren't clamped down on so hard would I have had the years I've had enjoying Cardiff City with my son since he was aged 4 or would I have kept him away.

Its the double standards that infuriate me, bad behaviour is bad behaviour regardless of who carries it out. If football fans behave badly they are classed as thugs and are dealt with accordingly. If rugby fans behave badly it is just boys being boys and high jinx.

The behaviour of rugby fans is not new I worked on Cardiff bus 94/5 and it was same then drunken fans being abusive doing various public order offences and bugger all done about it! Times have changed regarding football fans and whilst still have pockets of trouble it's minor & not unlike trouble at pubs after international game!

Re: Some of the Truth Finally coming out and being said Publ

Main difference is that trouble from football fans is easily identifiable groups of (more often than not) sober men who are likely to be mobbed up whereas the rugby fans are just groups out on the piss. While still dickheads it’s the same behaviour most weekends in town especially when it’s busy (Black Friday for one example). It’s groups of individuals rather than mob mentality.

The football fans probably have to be stamped on quickly to stop the mob mentality from developing as the consequences are probably a lot worse if they aren’t.

I would say the police think that the pissheads out in town are more easily controlled than numbers of football fans. Also, football violence getting out of control has resulted in multiple deaths.

Never a truer word spoken about the deluded fat farts who weren't good enough to play football, listened to the wrong music, dressed like their dad's, couldn't pull birds and married monsters.

http://waterfordwhispersnews.com/2015/0 ... ns-barman/

Fat Lads Who Played Rugby Once In School To Talk Shit For Next 6 Weeks, Warns Barman

WATERFORD barman James Jones has warned today that fat guys who played rugby once in college will more than likely talk absolute shit for the next six weeks due to the televising of the Six Nations.

The 37-year-old bar manager stated that hundreds of over-weight men wearing tight fitting rugby jerseys with collars erect are due to flood city bars and clubs across the country over the duration of the championship, which kicks off this Friday.

“I tried to get a few weeks off work, but then I realised this crap was on,” he said. “Don’t get me wrong, I like rugby. It’s just the fat morons who shout at the screen that wreck my head. Most of whom will drink only ‘Hino’ or Guinness, cause well, that’s what they’re meant to drink.”

Mr. Jones added that most of the rugby fans he has encountered have always the same old rugby story to tell.

“Christ, if I hear one more school or college rugby story I’ll shoot myself,” he explained. “It always starts the same: ‘When I was playing for the school I was positioned.. bla-bla-fucking-blah.

“Then it usually ends with the guy, who had it all, in tears telling everyone about his horrific knee injury that ‘ruined his career’, which obviously explains why he’s such a fat c**t now drinking Heineken at the bar.

“It’s the incessant shouting at the TV that really cramps my balls. Seriously, shouting drunk at a TV in a pub miles and miles away from the game is not going to change anything. It’s like they’re all trying to out-shout one another. Who can say random sports shit the loudest?”

“Pass it! He should have ran with it, stick it up his hole!”

The father-of-two also warned fellow bar staff to be extra careful when pulling a pint of Guinness as rugby fans are renowned pint connoisseur’s.

He concluded: “I urge pint pullers across the country to put that extra effort in when pouring the black stuff as these guys are professionals – not only on the game itself – but also on how to pour a pint of Guinness. They know more than you do about it.

The Six Nations will start on the 6th of Feb and will run over six weeks to the 21st of March.

I agree with that 100% and when groups of rugby fans start organising violence after every match and wrecking property then I hope the law comes down on them as hard as it does football fans.People on here are trying to say what happens after a rugby match is the same as football but it aint.
