NEIL WARNOCK REVEALS THE BIGGEST MISTAKE IN HIS CAREER AND IT MAY INTEREST WOLVES AND LEEDS FANS

Neil Warnock has enjoyed a hugely successful managerial career and is now working wonders with Cardiff City as they look to win promotion to the Premier League.
However, things could’ve worked out a lot differently had the 68-year old ended up at current promotion rivals Wolves.
The Bluebirds boss was interviewed for the role at Molineux in 2012 after Mick McCarthy had been sacked, with Wanderers in the Premier League. Yet, owner Steve Morgan delayed on giving Warnock an answer and when Leeds came calling, the experienced manager accepted and he insists it’s the worst decision he has made in his career agreeing to becoming the Leeds United manager.
“The Wolves fans have had it rough over the years. My biggest mistake – and Steve Morgan’s – was not taking over at Wolves. He should have snapped me up when I had the interview after Mick went,” he told journalist Tim Nash.
He added; “I was there (Wolves) but Ken Bates said he would just give me the (Leeds) job without interviewing me so I took it and that was my biggest mistake in my career because I like Wolves, it’s a proper football club, Leeds were and still are all over the place behind the scenes.”
Wolves ended up appointing Terry Connor until the end of the season and they were relegated with a whimper, so Steve Morgan is sure to feel the same way as Warnock.
It would’ve been interesting to see Warnock at Molineux and he certainly would’ve been the right man for the job at that particularly time.
Now though, it’s worked out well for everyone. Warnock is chasing yet another promotion with Cardiff City whilst almost everything has changed at Molineux since then and both could be playing in the Premier League next season.
