WHICH 3 CURRENT CARDIFF CITY PLAYERS EXCITE YOU MOST? :

There are so many players accross the pitch that I admire and have so much respect for their ability, application, dedication, discipline and hard work.

They all contributed to put us where we are today. However, my question is, which 3 excite you most?


To me they are Mendez-Laing , Hoilett and Paterson.


Hoilett & Mendez-Laing seem to have the key to open-up any defence in the Championship. They are tricky, very skilful, non-stop workers, assist in many goals and score lots themselves. These two make the team tick. I can't wait for Mendez-Laing to be back.

For me the team does not have the same quality without Mendez-Laing.


Paterson - what can I say? He has taken the team and the fans by storm. He is non-stop action , is very confident, can play in many positions, he tackles, he wins headers and scores goals. He has added more life and zip to our team who already had lots of both.

Paterson can virtually play anywhere, prob even in goal if he was asked (only joking)

Current crop? NML, Patterson.... And I'm going to go out on a limb and say Bogle.

Strikers feed off confidence, and goals give confidence. If this fella can nick another 3 or 4 before Christmas then he could be a gem.

This is very difficult as they are all doing so well. NML without a doubt - when this guy is on it watch out!
Bamba shows so much passion and quality - he's definitely in there.
It's very difficult to say just 1 more Erm.......Hoilett? Etheridge? Ralls? Geez it's hard to pick - I'm going with Hoilett.

I would say Tomlin,but.....It's got to be Mendez, Hoilett and Bamba.
However, what really excites me is a great squad working for each other. Bogle has great potential.

Difficult one as the whole squad has contributed in one way or another.

For me Holliett has been a revalation this season, Bamba for me is a complete no nonsense defender a proper old fashioned take no prisoners centre half and finally for me Zahore pace, power and an eye for goal. The six week rest he has had recently hopefully will have done him the world of good as he was looking a bit jaded before his injury.

Hoilet Mendez plus one from 20.

Hoilet has been our star player this season without a doubt he's a 8/9 out of 10 every game. He hasn't missed a game and that's after playing all summer for Canada.

I haven't missed a game home or away this season and as long as this guy is playing I always feel we have a chance.

NML, Holliet, Tomlin.

Yup, I know - Tomlin hasn't featured much for us and perhaps it's a bit unfair to put him ahead of the likes of Ralls, Bamba and Damour for example. However, in his cameo appearances, he's always tried to make things happen. There's expectation when he's in possession of the ball, in much the same way as I'm always urging the ball to be given to NML.

I think Patterson is going to be a big game changer for us too, he's still getting up to full match fitness and overcoming the psychological barrier of that awful injury he suffered.

It's a bit unfair to ask for players who "excite" you really ... I mean, how can you say a 'keeper or centre back excite? But that doesn't mean they're any less important to the side.

The great thing is the healthy competition we have for almost every position.

Etheridge, Morrison, Bamba Odd selections I know. However, they are the spine of the team and without them we wouldnt have the best defensive record in the league, only conceding 13 league goals, and that excites me!!!!

Also, we wouldn't be in the fantastic position we're in.

It's so hard because the entire squad including the players that have stepped in for injured players have done well. Our defence is organised, midfield are creative and strikers - when they are in form there's no stopping any of them - Zohore, ward or Bogle. I think Freddie still needs more game time to prove one way or another but again don't write him off!

Just to mention - Warnock and his coaching staff must be having a massive influence on the players too so a lot of credit their way.

Hard question but im going for Demour zohore and ralls.

Current crop? NML, Patterson....

Without a doubt it's these 2 and I can't wait until they are playing together down the right flank. We had a short teaser before NML's injury but I'm really hoping that once NML is back they can really start working on that potential lightening partnership.

For my third choice I'm going really off topic in picking Neil Etheridge. Like all keepers we tend to remember their dodgy bits rather than their brilliant ones, but in nearly every game NE has literally saved our butts when it seems easier for the opposition to score.

On the quite he has slowly developed into a very dependable shot stopper one I would be happy to take with us into the PL if we make it.

The whole team for me and we even have quality on the bench plus the injured players to come back.

I haven't felt so positive for years

mendez laing - probably our best player but he has plenty of room for improvement, particularly his decision making. he still has a small team mentality which he needs to break out of.

morrison - our best defender, and gone under the radar as he is not an 'action' defender, but just does the basics well.

zohore - physicality and ability to keep the ball high up the pitch.

For me in 3rd place it would be Lee Tomlin. Even though he hasn't featured a lot he always excites me when he's on the ball and looks like he can create something out of nothing and is always looking for a killer pass, and hopefully over the next month or two we will get to see more of him.

In 2nd its Junior Hoilett I think he's been superb this season and has added what was lacking last season in his game and that's end product offering more goals and Assists this season than he did the whole of last season.

But in 1st its Nathaniel Mendez-Laing for me. Every time he gets the ball he's always running at defenders and even when we're not playing well (which is rare) he's always the outball with his blistering pace and ability to just breeze past players with his power and speed he's been awesome this season.

1- Bruno Manga
The only premiership class player we have in the squad at the moment. How we kept hold of him this season is a miracle.

2- Loic Damour
For a player to come from a low league in a different country and make the impact he has so far is very impressive. Especially as he hardly speaks a word of english. If we dont go up i expect him to end up in the premier league regardless.

3- Rhys Healey
I honestly believe this boy has got a huge future. His overall play reminds me of Michael Chopra. If he can stay fit and gets a run in the team he could be huge for us in the coming years

Etheridge, Bamba and Tomlin when he’s allowed to play.

Laing and Hoilett for starters cos they both possess skill allowing them to take on and beat players.
Hard to choose a 3rd but it's probably Damour for me. Finds space and time when there doesn't seem to be any and can also play a killer pass.

Hoilett is my personal player of the year so far. Class he has been.

Agree with Damour, he looks brilliant.

Healy - haven't seen enough of him.

Manga - I've never rated him but he's quick and strong and can tackle. For me he's sometimes too cool on the ball and needs to hoof it into row Z and stop these silly little turns at the back.
