Strengthen in January?

Mon Nov 27, 2017 7:51 am

3 questions;

1. Do we need to strengthen
2. Will we strengthen
3. Would you still be confident of a top 2 finish if we dont?

I'm gonna say Yes, yes and yes..... thoughts?

I think NW still needs to shift one or two before he'll get the green light and knowing the gaffer I'll bet he already knows what he wants.I can see one or two loan deals but as for buying why would you sign a championship player on a two year deal if we are in the prem next season.

Agree.

He will need to assess the injury situation but unless that hasn't improved he won't want to risk upsetting this squad by bringing in somebody unless they can really make a difference.

Warnock is really big on the "we're in it together" ethic so whoever comes in will have to fit in. Having said that, people like Connolly, Pilks, etc., may be getting a bit frustrated at the lack of game time and therfeore may go out on loan if he can find decent players to come in and fill their places.

We don't need to add to our current squad but I hope we do!
Its the first time I've looked at a city team and thought that it doesn't need improving.
Of course it would be nice to add a little extra in the team but it doesn't bother me if we don't.
top 2 finish deffo possible with the current players. :bluescarf:

Yes we need a winger and a Different type of CM to Ralls and Bryson a play maker who can pick a pass. Hopefully we can get a Winger and a CM if we get rid of Connolly and Pilkington in January.

3 imo CM, Winger and another striker!

Pilks and others on loan to get game time (month)

Still think we’re a little bit thin at left back, get someone natural in to challenge Bennett.

Not sure there’s anything else needed. The squad has proved its worth.

Assuming all the injured players get back i think we only need a specialist defensive midfielder. If Jazz isn't fit soon then we could also do with looking at a left back aswell.

Hasn't Warnock indicated that he sees no reason to strengthen his squad in January

I don't think we need to strengthen. Unless warnock pulls another free singing out of his magic hat we won't be held for silly prices either. Looking at our injury list our squad could get stronger regardless.

Just posted this on another thread

James Morrison
James Macarthur
Mark Pugh
Scott Arfield
Chris Brunt
Ben Watson

All contracts due to expire. If we could have them all who would you pick, if any?
