I was just wondering what people thought about the LGBT in Football this week? As I've seen a lot of people say how its good to see it raise awareness and promote equality in football yet others have been saying its just a PC campaign by the FA and sexuality shouldn't be relevant in sport. I'm just curious what people thought about it this weekend?

not sure what's it's supposed to achieve to be honest . can we just live in a world where humans can watch sport without any type of politics being rammed down our throats ? why target sport for this type of thing ? i,m more worried about the future of our country than people wearing rainbow colours that's for sure

It is all down to the fact the majority of gays in sport are still living in the closet. Its purpose was to encourage gays to come out.
Personally I think it is a waste of time because the majority of us don't give a toss if someone is gay or not. If we have a gay striker in the squad all I will be worried about if he can find the net.

Well our squad has certainly given us a gay season thus far.

A football fan is a football fan his sexuality does not interest me, I certainly have not heard any form of homophobic words, chants or actions at the CCS, cannot even recall it at Ninian Park tbh.
Agree with having it rammed down our throats, I mean with all respect due, I watched a documentary not long back about the Gay Gooners and I just thought why cant you just be a gooner?, it amazes me that attention has to be drawn to if your part of an LGBT group or a gay supporter, I really do not understand it.

Personally, I think all this rainbow stuff is a load of nonsense.

This virtue signalling trend for 'diversity' is overdone and actually counter-productive in many areas and folks are getting sick of it.
Football fans simply just want to watch Match Of The Day, not Match Of The Gay.

There was a game against Brighton in the League Cup at NP a few seasons ago where I think Ali played the song "Gay Bar" and there was quite a lot of chanting aimed at the Brighton fans - "We can see you holding hands" and "Does your boyfriend know you're here?"
At Brighton last season there were police and stewards standing amongst the away fans threatening to eject any fan who chanted anything homophobic.

Yes I see what you mean. One has to be careful using the word "gay" nowadays. I think I'll change bit to "a brute of a season"

Load of shite. If you want to play conkers get on with it in silence. I don't run around with a flag telling everyone how straight I am. No one's interested, just enjoy the game.

a few seasons ago was actually 10 years..and attitudes have changed a hell of a lot in that decade...
besides i doubt very much that the percentage of gays there that day with brighton was any higher than we have sheep shaggers in our ranks or there were strike breaking ex miners in the City ground yesterday....it was just a chant aimed at being a wind up..

If people find that offensive they have a very dystopian future to look forward to.
