' Stand out performers by a long way! :-) '

Sat Nov 25, 2017 3:47 pm

Based on the pre season predictions here I would say we are the stand out performers closely followed by Sheffield United! It really drops off after that! :ayatollah: :bluebird:

Bottom of the pile would be Hull closely followed by Reading I would say. :ayatollah:

A long way to go but how dramatically could the table change from where it is?

BBC Sport's pre season predicted final table

1 Middlesbrough 2.68
2 Fulham 3.36

Actually Sheffield United have performed a little better than us versus the pundits predictions but I am allowed to be biased. :ayatollah:

The big under performers this season so far for me have been Fulham - I really thought they would push on from having a cracking little side last year and be right up there - to a lesser extent Reading have been a let down as well.

Although that said the money Boro spent they should be up by now if I'm being honest.

I'm also amazed more of the official pundits didn't see Sunderland being in real danger of going straight through - Coleman has just enough time to turn it around but they still need to go away to 7 of the current top 10 (Wolves, Bristol City, Us, Sheff Utd, Forest, Derby, Leeds,) and with their woeful home record its a tall ask to see them staying up.

I said at the start of the season that I think Sheff Utd would be right up there until Christmas and would fall away and i'm gonna stand by it although I could well end up with egg on my face with that one. Don't think Bristol will last the pace either although I quite openly admit there may some rivalry bias in there.

All in all a great season in the Championship and after a few years of Mid table mediocrity it's nice to be involved at the right end again - just gotta enjoy it as long as it lasts. :ayatollah: :bluescarf:

VILLA & DERBY still up there - will be interesting at the end of this year - where we all stand to that table.

It’s still early days though regarding Fulham. They seem to be picking up lately and the dark horse now are Villa. They’re creeping up quietly and will be a threat to us before long I think.
Good shout regarding Sheffield Utd, I was well impressed with them down here.
I predicted Wolves and they look like they may be the Man City of the championship this season.
Like you say, a great season in the championship so far!

I agree with a lot of this - Villa are starting to gain a consistency that they were really lacking at the beginning of the season and Wolves look like the real deal for sure - makes our win up their all the more impressive :ayatollah:
